CATCH IT EARLY!
Those little indentations you notice under the skin after cosmetic surgery, such as liposuction- the pulling of the skin inwards - which then creates an uneven look.

This formation of scar tissue can develop into full fibrosis, which can then become more difficult to treat, so it is best to tackle it immediately.
One of the reasons for ensuring you keep on top of your regular lymphatic drainage massages is so that we can keep an eye and ensure we treat before it becomes a problem.

🌟 A healthcare provider applies a rapid force over a short distance within a joint's range of motion

🌟 The force engages the joint's restrictive barrier, releasing it and restoring normal range of motion.

🌟 The joint may make a popping sound, known as cavitation, as gas is released.

❗️When it's used ❓️
🌟 HVLA is often used to treat joint pain.

🌟 It's a type of osteopathic manipulative medicine

❌Cold Muscles
❌Torn Muscles- Acute injury
❌Painful Muscles

Unpopular opinion-

Stretching is not "warming up"
You need to warm up BEFORE you stretch. This is why it's not advisable to stretch first thing in the morning before your muscles get a chance to warm up.

* Contrary to popular belief, stretching an injured muscle will not help with pain and can prolong the healing process. Injured tissues need a break in order to heal.

* Rest the injury, and apply heat or ice as needed to aid with recovery. Once your injury has healed, slowly re-introduce dynamic stretching of the muscle group back into your routine.

* Stretching should never be painful. Exerting too much energy or going too deep into a stretch can result in a torn muscle. Slowly ease into your stretches. You may feel slightly uncomfortable during a stretch, but it should never hurt. Don’t push your body past its limits, and always stay in your natural range of motion. If you notice tightness in one muscle area, repeat your stretches multiple times without pushing too hard.👍🏾

16/08/2024

During times of stress, your body can release cortisol after releasing its “fight or flight” hormones, such as adrenaline, so you continue to stay on high alert. This spike in adrenaline can actually temporarily reduce pain.
However, REPEATED and daily release of high cortisol forces your body into hypocotisolism thereby increasing your sensitivity to pain leading to disorders such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, IBS and others.

🌟 Reduce stress 🌟

✅️ Exercise/Stretch - Nature - Vitamin D
✅️ Laugh & Connect with others
✅️ Relax - Meditate - Massage
✅️ Recognise and Avoid your triggers
✅️ Plan ahead
