Have you ever tried to push away your feelings to sit on them or not allow yourself to fully express how something or someone is making you feel. This will only end in one emotion, FRUSTRATION. If you continue to not address this state of frustration you will start to feel your emotions intensify and grow stronger, before long they will start to become overwhelming and you will feel as if things are out of your control. There are many ways in which we assume we are building on self-love; we can get a haircut or buy a new outfit, treat ourselves to see that movie we have been wanting to see for weeks, eat our favourite meal or read a book rather than do the ironing. However, for some the need for self-love is far more basic. [ 1,120 more word ]

We all have tough times FACT but how we overcome those tough times and what we learn from them is the important part. Learning, growing, and moving forward is the destination and ultimately the goal. We set out on a journey and the only focus we have is the end goal that destination is the driving force. However in order to reach our destination we must first start out on our journey , plan our trip carefully and prepare where possible for obstacles in our path. [ 1,438 more word ]

If we are truly honest with ourselves we are always trying to gain someones approval - whether we are aware of it or not. It can be from a parent or family member, from a boss or teacher or even from our inner self. We constantly ask ourselves are we a good son or daughter or has the manager noticed the hours we dedicate to our work place and did the teacher understand how hard and long we worked to finish that assignment. I thought about the above question for quite sometime before I started to write this blogpost. I always try to remain non-judgemental of others and the lives they lead and the choices they make. However, I feel that none of us are completely immune to being judgemental and critical, not only of others but also of ourselves and the world at large. [ 866 more words. ]

Sometimes we hold back from walking forward into the next chapter of our lives by fearing the future. We have to learn to address our fears and allow ourselves to progress forward. The saying "life is to short" has always rung true to me. Our childhood and teenage years tend to take forever; we are permanently on the edge of getting our lives started yet the second we hit adulthood we start travelling at top speed. We all do it. We all lose focus, not only with the big important things but with the everyday things that keep our lives ticking over. We can all become distracted by our busy lives. The distractions can be both external stimuli like noise or environment or internal stimuli like our thought process, relationship issues or simple day dreaming. When we lose focus we start to also lose concentration and this can be dangerous for all areas of our lives. [ 953 more words. ]

I want to just take a moment to refresh your minds and my own of why I started to write this blog. Initially it was for fun, plus I wanted to know what it would feel like to see my thoughts, feelings and ideas in the written form. I also wanted to share the knowledge and understanding of the world of psychology that I had gained over many years of studying the subject. [ 1897 more words. ]
