Baxendale Care Home

Baxendale Care Home Baxendale is a residential care home, set in Whetstone, North London. We have 55 rooms for elderly people, and a beautiful lake as our back drop.

Resident care, activity and friendship go together beautifully at Baxendale. Our purpose built home opened on our present site in 1963, but our tradition of care goes back to 1861 and the original Baxendale Home, now the site of the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. Within Baxendale you’ll find modern facilities: light airy rooms, dedicated, caring staff and happy, active residents. Our facilities include a five star rated kitchen, 24 hour-a-day care and a full programme of activities. Our home contains several spacious lounges and a bright dining room looking out across a shimmering lake.

To celebrate Diwali last week, our residents got stuck into some fantastic arts and crafts!

They focused on beautiful Indian-themed designs, painting and decorating little tea light holders. They also created stunning decorated hands and intricate Mandala patterns.

The results were absolutely wonderful and added a special sparkle to our celebratory Diwali lunch!

Looking back at a wonderful celebration from earlier this summer! Back in June, we honoured the Jewish festival of Shavuot by making a beautiful cheesecake. The residents loved getting creative in the kitchen, and it was a delicious way to partake in this lovely tradition.

Baxendale Care Home - Actively Caring Since 1861

Resident care, activity and friendship go together beautifully at Baxendale. Our purpose built home opened on our present site in 1963, but our tradition of care goes back to 1861 and the original Baxendale Home, now the site of the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.

Within Baxendale you’ll find modern facilities: light airy rooms, dedicated, caring staff and happy, active residents. Our facilities include a five star rated kitchen, 24 hour-a-day care and a full programme of activities. Our home contains several spacious lounges and a bright dining room looking out across a shimmering lake.

Getting old isn’t what it used to be. For our residents it’s about keeping their minds stimulated and their bodies active, which is exactly what we work towards at Baxendale Care Home. Our large-print library is in constant use, and conversation in the lounges and dining room is still loud, lively and full of laughter.

We have a well thought out and extensive programme of care home activities that includes coffee mornings, professional entertainers, movement to music, church services, buffet lunches, bingo and quizzes. For the many residents who enjoy a day out, we also organise trips to the theatre, to local religious centres – and even to the pub.
