Connection is at the heart of everything we do. We believe social activity should involve the whole family, which is why we love hosting events like our Annual Garden Party and our weekly Aperitif Hour.

Whether it is a competitive game of bingo or a monthly residents meeting to plan new activities, there is always a chance to socialise and feel part of the Baxendale community.

What a wonderful Friday we had at Baxendale! ✨

On the 17th of April, we were absolutely honoured to welcome The Mayor of Barnet, Danny Rich, for a very special visit. He kindly shared a fascinating look into a day in the life of a mayor and took the time to answer all the brilliant questions our residents had for him.
After a lovely tour of the Baxendale grounds, there was only one proper way to finish the afternoon: sitting together with a classic cup of tea and some delicious cake! ☕🍰

Thank you, Mayor Rich, for spending such quality time with us and bringing so many smiles to our residents. Swipe through to see some of our favourite moments from the day!

💖 A look back at our lovely Valentine’s Day! 💖

Last month, love was certainly in the air at Baxendale as we celebrated Valentine’s Day with a full day of heart-themed fun.

Our residents got creative in the morning, designing beautiful handmade cards for their loved ones and friends. We then followed this with a very competitive (but very sweet!) round of Valentine’s Bingo! 🎲✨

It was wonderful to see everyone coming together to share stories, laughter, and a few treats. These moments of connection make our community so special.

🏮 Looking back at our Chinese New Year celebrations! 🏮

A few weeks ago, our residents had a wonderful time marking the Lunar New Year with a special craft afternoon. We stayed busy creating beautiful traditional paper lanterns, which brought so much colour and festive spirit to the home.

It was a fantastic way to enjoy some creative time together while learning about the traditions of the Year of the Snake. We still love seeing these brilliant handmade decorations around the building! 🧧✨

The best of both worlds at Baxendale. 🎭🧘‍♂️

We believe in a "packed programme" of activities-from arts and crafts and guest speakers to trips to the theatre! Keeping active is key to physical and mental health.

But we also know that "quiet time" is just as important. Our library and sun lounge offer tranquil spaces for residents to read, play a game with a friend, or simply enjoy the view. 📖☀️

It’s all about balance. ✨

Did you know Baxendale is home to a "mini-oasis" in the heart of North London? 🌳✨

While staying social is vital, we know that true well-being comes from having a peaceful space to recharge. Every one of our rooms offers a glorious view of our vibrant gardens and grounds-complete with our very own lake! 🦆🌷

Whether it’s a quiet moment on the terrace or a stroll through the greenery, we provide the solitude our residents need to feel t

You know your loved one better than anyone else. 🤝

One of the biggest benefits of regular visits is that you are often the first to spot the "subtle" changes. Whether it’s a shift in mood or a new habit, your insights help our staff provide even better, more personalised care.

We view our residents' families as partners in health. Together, we ensure every resident at Baxendale thrives! 🌟

For our residents living with dementia, a visit from a loved one is more than just a chat - it's a powerful spark for the memory. 🧠✨

Seeing a familiar face can trigger positive emotions, reduce confusion, and provide a vital sense of identity. While our 24-hour care team is always here, there is no substitute for the unique bond of family.

The first few days in a new home are a big transition. 🏠✨
At Baxendale, we’ve found that the presence of family and those familiar personal touches-like favorite photos and keepsakes-make all the difference in helping a new resident settle in.

Your family/friends visits during those early days provide the mental comfort and "home" feeling that no one else can. 💛

Baxendale Care Home - Actively Caring Since 1861

Getting old isn’t what it used to be. For our residents it’s about keeping their minds stimulated and their bodies active, which is exactly what we work towards at Baxendale Care Home. Our large-print library is in constant use, and conversation in the lounges and dining room is still loud, lively and full of laughter.

We have a well thought out and extensive programme of care home activities that includes coffee mornings, professional entertainers, movement to music, church services, buffet lunches, bingo and quizzes. For the many residents who enjoy a day out, we also organise trips to the theatre, to local religious centres – and even to the pub.
