During November, Cancer Centre London and Nuffield Health Parkside Hospital want to shine a spotlight on the importance of men’s health because conversations can save lives.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. In the UK, more than 63,000 men are diagnosed every year, and 1 in 8 men will face a prostate cancer diagnosis in their lifetime. We want to help raise awareness and encourage men to look after their health, to know the signs and risk factors, and to feel empowered to speak openly about concerns. Early detection makes a life-changing difference.

We encourage everyone – men, families, colleagues, and communities to take this opportunity to learn more, have those conversations, and support men in prioritising their wellbeing.

If you have any concerns, find out more and get in touch: https://iconcancercentre.co.uk/contact-us/

As we observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our focus at Cancer Centre London is to bring awareness to this disease and encourage proactive health action. Our commitment remains to provide compassionate and advanced treatment options.

Here’s what our experts have to say about the latest advancements in breast cancer care:

- Professor Anna Kirby, Clinical Oncologist “Thanks to advances in radiotherapy, breast cancer treatment is now more precise, gentle, and effective. Every woman’s journey is different, and our goal is to deliver the right care at the right time. Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a powerful reminder to get checked and, if needed, take that first step towards early treatment.”

- Dr Muireann Kelleher, Medical Oncologist “I see the difference early detection makes every day. Advances in imaging and more tailored cancer treatments now allow us to deliver bespoke care to each individual - but it all starts with awareness and timely action. This month is a vital reminder to prioritise your health.”

- Pippa Cardew, Lead Mammographer and Radiographer at Nuffield Health Parkside Hospital “Having a mammogram is a quick and proactive way of screening for breast cancer for women over 40 years with no current breast symptoms. Mammograms detect small changes and abnormalities in the breast - early detection provides a much better outcome for women”.

At Cancer Centre London, we believe in empowering our patients with knowledge and access to the latest treatments. Remember, early detection saves lives. Speak to your healthcare provider about how you can get screened today.

✨ Geoff’s story is one of hope, courage, and the power of not giving up ✨

When Geoff and his wife Eunice were told there were no more treatment options for his advanced prostate cancer, they felt their world collapse. But Eunice refused to stop searching – and that led them to Icon Cancer Centre London.

With Lutetium-177 PSMA therapy, or theranostics, Geoff’s PSA levels have dropped dramatically, giving him and his family precious more time together.

“We’ve been married 41 years and we’ve always been a team,” says Geoff. “My goal is for my granddaughters to remember their grandad – not just as a photo.”

During October, Nuffield Health Parkside Hospital and Cancer Centre London want to shine a light on Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Around 1 in 8 women in the UK will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime, and more than 55,000 people are diagnosed each year. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK and, while it is still a leading cause of cancer death, survival rates have improved dramatically. Today, almost 8 in 10 women will survive their breast cancer for 10 years or more.

Early detection is key, and during Breast Cancer Awareness Month we urge you to consult a healthcare professional if you notice any changes. Recognising signs and symptoms early can make all the difference.
