I don’t understand why Virgin Money UK decline payments for purchasing Gold or Silver.

When: As of July 1, 2025, Basel III regulations designate allocated physical gold and silver as Tier 1, zero-risk, high-quality liquid assets (HQLA). This elevates physical bullion to the same status as cash, allowing banks to count it at 100% market value for liquidity
