Do you rehearse over and over what you want to say in meetings, give yourself a pep talk… ‘I can do this’ and ‘they’ll see how much I’ve improved’?

While pushing down that ick feeling in your stomach, only for the old stories to rear their heads again… ‘you’ve got nothing good to say’ ‘they don’t like you’ ‘you’ll mess it up again, like you always do’

It’s a cycle. You recognise it. And it’s exhausting. You’re tired of the cycle and intend to ‘push through it’

When really you want to speak up, confidently and really share your ideas and insights, be a part of the team and a leader in your role.

So logically, you’re pushing through and pep talking yourself (btw, these are great tools and intentions) but when it comes to logic and emotion, emotion wins.

So if you have a fear of speaking up, those stories are supporting the fear and logical intentions don’t touch the surface of the fear.

When we work together, we investigate the fear, you gain understanding and the fear dissipates and transforms.

Addressing symptoms of workplace anxiety gives a short lived, feel good factor.

Never addressing the emotions that are being pushed down and running the anxious feelings and stress levels.

When you work a stressful role, you know that stress is part of the deal. When it left unaddressed, it can build up. Affecting not just how you are at work but how you are at home too..

I get it. When you first started working for yourself, just getting enough was the goal.

Then the goals got bigger... and the income started to come too.

Then as income rose... the habits that had worked up until now... were not cutting it.

If fact, the habits (accounting, banking, bill sorting - the system) began to show the flaws that were a problem even then.

And now you're journalling to push through.

Your habits are being run by your beliefs. And if your beliefs are running from 'I just need enough to pay the bills' then the six figure dream will stay... a dream.
