Would you like to learn how to teach restorative yoga, rest deeply yourself, and reset your nervous system?

I would love to invite you to our 36-hour Restorative Yoga Teacher Training, taught by me, Joyce McMiken, alongside Ali Masterman and guest teacher Dr Andrew McGonigle. Together, we’ll guide you in the art of teaching rest and a nervous system reset — for yourself and your students.

Dates:
Weekend 1: Saturday 7 – Sunday 8 March 2026
Weekend 2: Friday 20 – Sunday 22 March 2026

This training is for yoga teachers, trainees, and dedicated practitioners who want to deepen their understanding of restorative yoga — from skilful use of props and sequencing, to the nervous system, silence, breath, and the art of teaching rest.

Early Bird pricing available until Saturday 31 January 2026
Location - West London Buddhist Centre, London, UK

Whether you are a yoga teacher wanting to deepen your yoga practice or learn a new skill, or a practitioner curious to explore more, we would love to invite you to join our teacher training this March. Our early bird offer ends on 31 January. More info on our websites.

There's something really special about holding a space where people can drop into the centre of their being, downshift their nervous system, and leave the chaos of the world behind.

What's your go to yoga posture for deep rest? Does it change from week to week?

Think you can’t meditate? Think again.

You don’t need a quiet mind — meditation is really about noticing what’s happening with curiosity and kindness.

In this workshop, we’ll explore mindfulness and meditation through gentle, guided practice. You’ll receive practical tools to work with common challenges and create a practice that feels meaningful and sustainable.

A nourishing way to begin the new year, helping you cultivate resilience for the year ahead.

And don’t worry — you won’t be seated for two hours!

Often when we are considering joining a course we have so many questions. Is this course really for me? What will I learn? Will I connect with the teachers? Do I need to be a teacher to join? This information session is an opportunity to answer all your questions and hopefully put your mind at rest.

The Information Session is online on 8 January and our early bird offer ends on 12 January 2026.

Meditation is a massive part of my life and has taken many shapes and forms over the years. It keeps me grounded, ready to face the world and is full of surprises!

Professor Robert Thurman at the Vajrayoga workshop today in London. He is someone that I have listened to for years and it was such a privilege to finally be in his presence. Alongside the wonderful .john.campbell (who spent many years practising Ashtanga Yoga in Mysore) he shared Vajrayoga a combination of Hatha Yoga and Tibetan Yoga, and of course there was some discussion of Patanjali Yoga Sutras.

So many highlights but the essence of it all "Compassion is everything" and perhaps a slightly more controversial statement that "Yoga from the beginning is ta**ra" which goes against some scholars views, but I loved it!

Thank you for making it happen.

I am hosting relaxed 60-minute focus groups (in-person + online) on Thursday 6 November to hear from yogis who meditate regularly, meditate sometimes, or don't meditate at all. If meditation feels tricky, I would love to find out why.

Everyone who attends will receive a free mediation class with me (Joyce) at the beautiful new studio in Primrose Hill, HOME (). The class takes place on a Wednesday from 13.45 - 14.15 (in-person and online). You will need to take the class by the end of the year.

Places are limited. Please register your interest via the link in the bio by Saturday 25 October. We may not be able to accommodate everyone, but we will try.

This November from 11th - 15th, we will be hosting a gentle, grounding 4 night retreat in Almeria in southern Spain.

This retreat is designed to support you in unwinding mental, emotional, and physical tension through yoga āsana, breath work, guided meditation and time in stillness and nature. We'll also enjoy a coastal walk in Cabo de Gata Natural Park—with the option for a refreshing dip in the sea!

Message me if you are interested in joining.

There are many elements that need to come together for a retreat to work well, but the most important is always having a great group, and as always, we had a great group. Thank you!

Big shout out to Jess for the fabulous food and the retreat team for looking after us so well.
