Just recently a new website has been launched, making it easier for patients’ families and eyecare professionals to access resources about keratoconus. They hold regular online and in person events.
Keratoconus is a progressive eye condition where the cornea bulges into a cone
Signs:
Early stages: mild blurring, increased near-sightedness (myopia), astigmatism, frequent prescription changes, light sensitivity and glare.
Progressive stages: distorted vision, ghosting, halos, monocular diplopia (multiple images in one eye), poor contact lens fit and potential corneal scarring.
At Hynes Optometrists, we are trained to identify Keratoconus in its earliest stages and give you the best advice on its management.
