Happy New Year, and welcome back.

Returning to practice is rarely linear.
Life pulls us away. Seasons change. Routines soften or fall apart.
And then, quietly, there comes a moment when the mat starts calling again.

As we move into the new year, we want to make it easier to return. Not through pressure or quick fixes, but through simple, supportive ways to rebuild rhythm and consistency in a way that feels kind.

This season, we’re introducing Foundation & Flow — a class pack designed to support both strong foundations and steady practice.

It brings together our Morning Flow classes for those who like to begin the day in movement, alongside a selection of Open Level classes focused on foundations and ease, including Beginners, Forrest and Yin. Whether you’re drawn to early starts, revisiting the basics, or slowing things down, this pack offers space to return in a way that suits where you are now.

For those ready to settle back into regular practice, our Unlimited Membership remains the most supportive way to stay connected over time — a choice rooted in consistency rather than intensity.

If you’ve been away, you’re welcome back.
If your practice looks different now, that’s welcome too.
One class a week, a handful of mornings, or simply starting again where you are.

The mat is here.
The door is open.

If you’d like to explore whether Foundation & Flow is right for you, please speak to us in studio, or visit indabayoga.com for full details.

With care and warmth,
Indaba 🤍

🔓 Open Level

We’re very happy to be welcoming Rebecca Hannah back to Indaba Yoga Studio for another highly popular Art of Flexibility special.

This class is an intelligent, heart-led exploration of flexibility, where strength supports softness. Drawing on contortion, dance and mobility principles, Rebecca guides you through active and static stretching, prop- and wall-based assists, and carefully layered drills that build range of motion with awareness and integrity.

Each session focuses on a different area of the body, such as back extension, hips or hamstrings, before moving into creative sequencing and transitions that invite curiosity, confidence and self-expression. Open to all levels, with thoughtful adaptations for both studio and online practitioners.

These sessions tend to fill quickly. Book now to avoid missing out.

Sound Bath. Listening to Inner Wisdom
With Othman Haddad
Sunday 18 January
2.00 to 3.30

In a world filled with constant stimulation and outward demands, the ability to listen inward can feel distant. Yet it is often the most essential place to return to.
This Sound Bath is an invitation to slow down deeply and reconnect with your inner wisdom. The quiet, steady place within that supports calm, clarity and choices aligned with who you truly are beyond habit or conditioning.
The session unfolds as a journey through sound. Deep rhythmic drumming, overtone chanting and the gong are played with precision and intention, gently guiding the nervous system into slower brainwave states. As mental activity softens, many experience a sense of time and space dissolving, allowing awareness to turn inward with greater ease.
Rather than analysing or trying to do anything, you are invited simply to listen. Not with the mind, but with the body. From this receptive state, emotional tension can release and a grounded sense of trust and inner guidance can emerge.
You will lie down comfortably, close your eyes, and allow carefully chosen vibrations to carry you into deeper layers of awareness. The experience supports nervous system regulation, emotional settling and a renewed connection to your inner compass.
This approach has been developed over more than thirteen years and shared in hundreds of sessions across the UK and internationally.
Instruments may include frame drums, gong, overtone chanting, Tibetan singing bowls, Koshi bells and other subtle sound textures.
A spacious and restorative afternoon practice.

As the year draws to a close we want to pause and say thank you.

To our teachers who bring depth care and integrity to every class. To our students and wider community who continue to show up with curiosity openness and commitment. Indaba is what it is because of all of you.

At this busy time of year we hope you are able to find moments of rest and kindness for yourself. Whether that is a few quiet breaths between celebrations a short pause to reflect or time on your mat at home or with us. Even a few minutes can be enough to soften and reset.

If your Christmas is full and lively may you find pockets of calm within it. If it is quieter or tender may you feel held and supported. And if your mat becomes your place to land whether in the studio or through Indaba On Demand we are grateful to practice alongside you in whatever way that takes.

Wishing you a restful nourishing Christmas and a gentle turning into the year ahead.

With love and gratitude

✨ New Year’s Day Yin Yoga with Norman Blair ✨
A gentle invitation to begin the year with reflection, softness and appreciation.
This special session with Norman Blair offers space to pause, review what has been, and look ahead to what might unfold. Yin yoga gives us the chance to slow down and stay with our experiences, rather than rushing into the next thing.
Through long-held, seated postures supported by props, we settle into stillness. In this quiet, the body’s sensations, the breath, and the movement of the mind become clearer. The practice encourages self-reflection, acceptance and kindness — a grounding way to step into a new year.
Norman brings over 20 years of Yin experience, guiding with depth, care and steady presence.

Our Story

Indaba believes passionately in the positive benefits of yoga and the great things that can happen when you feel good.

The word Indaba is an ancient African term for “gathering”, and this idea lies at the heart of Indaba - to bring people together, provide the opportunity to step away from daily life, and take the time to reconnect both with ourselves and with the world around us.

In 2011 we opened the doors to our beautiful space, to bring a more welcoming, positive and non-judgemental attitude to yoga, respecting the ancient traditions but also embracing new styles where appropriate. Committed to maintaining the highest standards of teaching, space and facilities, we aim to provide fun, uplifting, energising and challenging experiences in which anyone, beginner or expert, can share.
