Dermal fillers are used to correct wrinkle lines and folds caused by the natural loss of volume and loss of elasticity associated with aging. A gel is injected into the affected areas to lift and smooth out the skin, helping to achieve a refreshed look.

We adopt a very natural approach to treatment so avoiding some of the “overtreated” and “plumped” out examples you can see.We try and treat the underlying cause of the wrinkles and movement of skin downwards that occurs with age.

Sometimes a combination treatment may be recommended to you, combining a dermal filler with wrinkle relaxing injections, to achieve the desired result.
The procedure is straightforward and takes approximately 30-45 minutes.

The wrinkles and lines on your face can be caused by ageing, lifestyle, sun damage, genetics and use or overuse of facial muscles; smoking, hormones and stress can also make wrinkles worse and lead to premature wrinkling.

Wrinkle treatments target specific facial muscles to create a smoother, more youthful appearance, most often on forehead lines, frown lines between the eye brows and crow’s feet at the corners of the eyes.

The injection works by blocking nerve transmission between the nerve endings and the muscle fibres around the injection site to relax the muscle so that they don’t contract. The untreated facial muscles contract in the normal way, allowing normal facial expression to be unaffected.

The aim of the treatment is to break the habit of frowning, and you can expect to notice results after about three days and complete effects are visible after about two weeks.

Treatment does not take very long – usually about 20 minutes, using a very fine needle in precise locations on the face. The effects of the treatment last for about 3-4 months. However clinical studies indicate that treatments last longer over time, so that you should require fewer injections in the future. These results vary from patient to patient.
