‘WHO WANTS TO LIVE FOREVER’ now open at Gallery House! A collaboration with Linn sound systems 🔈

Curated by Cult Vision founder and creative director Panos Nicolaou. He says:

‘..The film poster has been with us since the birth of cinema in the 1890’s. For many of us alive today, films are the art form that we have been most exposed to. They have had a profound impact on; our attitudes, our knowledge, our experience and our culture. The primary purpose of the film poster is to create the desire, the want, the need to go to the cinema and buy a ticket to watch the film. This task requires the artist to really capture the imagination of ordinary people. Sometimes with a subtle tease, sometimes with an explosion of colour, movement and drama.

With artistic styles that range from; photorealistic, to psychedelic, to graphic, to abstract, to surreal many posters stand alone as accomplished works of art. The most coveted being the posters that perfectly compliment excellent or much loved films. However there are also excellent and coveted posters of terrible films and terrible posters of excellent films. The latter has contributed to a growing market for new limited edition posters created by artists celebrating their favourite cult or classic films

The collection featured in this exhibition are significant cinema posters from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and one or two gems from the 2000’s. Significant because of their wonderful artwork, their story, their cultural impact or just for how much they were loved and enjoyed…’

We are working on a very exciting installation curated by our creative director Panos Nicolaou! More about this soon.

We are taking our time with the window, meanwhile here’s a funny story for you: Busy bee Panos half painted the wall recently and loads of passers-by have been stopping, taking pictures and our customers love it?! A bit ‘Mark Rothko’ apparently! Well for now, enjoy the accidental abstract art 😉

Meanwhile over at our Marylebone Gallery: We are personally very excited to welcome Archie to our gallery, in fact as many of you will remember, we have previously worked with ‘Shed of the Year Winner’ for a project at during last year: ‘Windows into Spring’🌷

Do pop by and visit Archie’s show and while you’re there, admire the golden signage on the fascia of the gallery hand painted by him earlier this Spring, looking absolutely gorgeous in the Autumn sun! ☀️🍂✨

・・・
It’s time to get your Halloween ‘hat’ on and get into spooky spirits as ‘The Dance of Death 2025’ by is opening tomorrow! We are personally very excited about this exhibition, as we know Archie well, he is a super talented artist and a top guy! Go see 🏃🏻 🏃🏻‍♀️

About the exhibition:

This Halloween Archie Proudfoot will revive and reimagine Hans Holbein’s classic satirical series ‘The Dance of Death’.

For Holbein this dance was intended as a reminder of mortality for its viewers but it was also an opportunity for social commentary; his allegorical figures of Death torment the rich and powerful while helping the poor. Proudfoot’s updated series continues in this tradition.

For Archie death is not the end, it is a renewing force that reinvigorates life. ‘The Dance of Death 2025’ promises to be a raucous and carnivalesque take on how we live with our own mortality today.

More about this show soon!

Opening times 30th October - 2nd November:
Thursday Private View: 6pm-9pm
Friday: 12pm-7pm
Saturday: 11am - 6pm
Sunday: 11am - 5pm

What if you could reclaim your focus in a world full of distractions’? asks artist and designer
June Mineyama-Smithson aka

A collection of her abstract paintings exploring the power of intention were launched in May at Cult Vision for Clerkenwell Design Week, for our latest collaboration: ‘Art of Reclaiming Focus’ showing at until Autumn 2025.

June continues: ‘Nowadays, everything is
fighting for our attention—social media, calendar invites, family duties— and the ability to focus on a single thing feel like a luxury.’
