๐๏ธ Tom Secretan | Counselling & Psychotherapy ๐๏ธ
Life can be complex โ full of transitions, pressures, and moments that leave us feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of who we are.
Sometimes we come to therapy knowing exactly what we want help with. Other times, we arrive simply knowing that something needs to change โ and we find out the rest together.
Iโm a qualified psychotherapist, trained over seven years at The Minster Centre (accredited by BACP and UKCP) in an integrative approach that draws on psychodynamic, humanistic, existential and body-based perspectives. My work is also informed by attachment theory and relational psychoanalysis โ grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens through safe, authentic connection.
Having worked for several years in a college of music and dance, I have particular experience supporting students and creative professionals โ including singers, dancers, musicians, choreographers and actors โ as they navigate the unique pressures of artistic life.
Iโve supported people with challenges including:
๐ญ Depression, anxiety & self-doubt
๐ Relationship difficulties, trust & intimacy issues
โก Anger, addiction, and self-harm
๐ง Neurodivergence, identity & belonging
๐ Racism, cultural identity & menโs issues
๐ฌ Grief, loss & major life transitions
๐ฑ And the feeling that life could be lived more fully.
Iโm a member of UKCP and adhere to their professional ethical code.
I also have a research interest in fathers and fathering, and have written for The New Psychotherapist.
If youโre thinking about therapy โ whether youโre clear on whatโs bringing you or simply curious to explore โ I invite you to get in touch.
