CAUSES OF INCONTINENCE👇

STRESS INCONTINENCE
The condition known as stress incontinence occurs when the pressure inside your bladder as it fills with urine exceeds the ability of your urethra to remain closed. Your urethra is the channel via which p*e exits your body.

In the event that you have stress incontinence, any rapid increase in pressure on your bladder, such as laughing or sneezing, may result in urine leaking out of your urethra.

URGE INCONTINENCE
An issue with the detrusor muscles in the walls of your bladder may be the root cause of your sudden and frequent urge to urinate.

When you go to the bathroom, the detrusor muscles contract to release the urine after relaxing to let the bladder fill with urine.

There may be instances when the detrusor muscles contract excessively, making it urgent to use the restroom. This condition is referred to as an overactive bladder.

Although the exact cause of your detrusor muscles contracting excessively may not be known, several potential explanations include:

•constipation
•excessive intake of alcohol
•not taking enough water etc.

INCONTINENCE

The unintended passing of urine is known as urinary incontinence.

Millions of people are thought to be impacted by this widespread issue.

Urinary incontinence comes in a variety of forms, including:

Stress incontinence: When your bladder is under pressure, such as when you cough or laugh;

Urge incontinence: When you have a sudden, strong urge to urinate, or shortly thereafter;

Overflow incontinence (chronic urinary retention): When your bladder cannot completely empty itself, resulting in frequent leaking.

Total incontinence is when your bladder is completely unable to hold any p*e, causing you to constantly leak or pass urine.

Additionally, stress urinary incontinence and urge incontinence can coexist.

FALLS IN THE ELDERLY

A fall can happen to anyone, but older people are more prone to it, especially if they have a chronic health condition.

Falls are a frequent but frequently disregarded source of injuries. A fall occurs in about one-third of those over 65 and in half of those over 80.

The majority of falls do not cause significant injuries. However, there is always a chance that a fall could result in broken bones.

It can also make the person feel less confident, more reclusive, and like they have lost their independence.

WHAT TRIGGERS A FALL?

Older persons are more likely to stumble because of the natural ageing process.

Older persons are more likely to fall because they could be more inclined to:

muscular weakness and issues with balance.

visual loss is a chronic medical condition that can cause dizziness and a momentary loss of consciousness, such as heart disease, dementia, or low blood pressure (hypotension).

A fall is additionally more probable if:

the bathroom's floor is moist, or they've just been polished.

weak lighting in the room and improperly tied rugs or carpets.

The individual is rushing to use the restroom.

At the time they reach for storage spaces, like a cabinet, or they are going down stairs.
