Just finished two wonderful days in Vienna teaching robotic surgery to colleagues from Romania, the UK, Switzerland, and Poland. The city didn’t disappoint — I even managed to get a ticket to Rolando Villazón, explore the museums, enjoy the classic sights, and sample some incredible food. A perfect mix of work, culture, and inspiration. 🇦🇹🤖🎶

Flo finished her fellowship with us yesterday. Over the past year she has been everything you could hope for in a colleague and a surgeon. sharp, mature beyond her years, endlessly organised, and always working incredibly hard. She seemed to know every detail of every case and every patient, which made working with her an absolute pleasure. She ran the MDTs with efficiency and confidence. Patients loved her, the team loved her, and she even laughed at my terrible jokes.

She’s also a pro on the slopes, a brilliant baker, and somehow still found time to collect awards, including the prestigious Golden Telescope, and to present at multiple international conferences, always with style and clarity that made her stand out.

This is just the beginning of what will no doubt be an extraordinary career. CEMIG is a bit like Hotel California — you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.
