ANTI WRINKLE INJECTIONS – Facts or Myths? What’s really true?

We’ve all heard things about anti wrinkle injections, some true, some… not so much! Let’s clear up the confusion and set the record straight...

✨ First off, anti-wrinkle injections are not permanent.
On average, Botox lasts around 3–4 months. As it naturally wears off, muscle movement gradually returns, and you can choose whether or not to have a top-up. Botox gradually wears off, stopping treatment won’t make wrinkles worse. Your muscles will simply go back to their natural baseline.

The importance of SPF ☀️

UV RAYS EXPLAINED
There are two types of rays that can damage the DNA in your skin cells and lead to skin cancer. It’s important to protect your skin from both types:

UVB rays cause sunburn and play a key role in developing skin cancer. A sunscreen’s SPF number refers mainly to the amount of UVB protection it provides.

UVA rays cause skin damage that leads to tanning as well as skin ageing and wrinkles. The shortest wavelengths of UVA rays also contribute to sunburn.

It’s important to look for the words “broad spectrum” on a product’s label, which means it has ingredients that can protect you from UVA as well as UVB rays.

Let’s talk Microneedling… and expectations.

Hyaluronic acid is a water-binding molecule It’s the key molecule involved in skin moisture It keeps our skin hydrated and other tissues as well, such as our eyes and joints. But most of our hyaluronic acid is found in the skin, 50% of the total Due to its natural water-binding properties, hyaluronic acid has become popular in both skincare products and fillers By increasing water content in the skin, hyaluronic acid can help plump the look of fine lines and wrinkles too.

As we age, our hyaluronic acid levels go down, and the skin is less able to retain the HA that’s in our skin products, as well. By 40 or 50, our skin has about half as much of the HA it had at age 20.

Why Our Feed Isn’t Filled With Lots Of Before And After Images.

We do love sharing the incredible transformations of our clients' treatments with before and after images, but we are mindful not all clients feel comfortable sharing their treatment journey, especially images from the start.

It’s important to remember that once these images are posted online they become public and if you decide at a later date you don’t want them shared this can’t be undone. I can remove them from my feed but that doesn’t mean that the images are not still out there on the internet.

I appreciate my clients who kindly consent to showing their gorgeous transformations however you can rest assured my main priority is always your comfort and privacy. 🤍
