Today is National Love Your Pet Day, so we’re celebrating one of favourite four‑legged housemates: Ollie Matthews 🐈

Since joining the house, Ollie has shown just how much a pet can positively transform wellbeing. We’ve seen firsthand how his presence brings comfort, calm, and a real sense of home.

In preparation of his arrival his housemates were supported by Certitude colleagues to understand the responsibilities of owning a cat and working together sharing daily tasks like buying his food and cleaning his bowl as well as how to keep him calm during vet visits.

Ollie has become more than just a pet—he’s a true member of the household. His calming presence helps people relax when they’re feeling anxious, often settling into their laps as they brush his fur. As one person shared, “That caring from him makes the house more homely.”

We’re thrilled to share that last night The Gate won a Civic Honours Award in !

One participant said "The Gate is where I feel free to be myself."

The team at The Gate are a collective of professionally trained artists and musicians. They not only host sessions but support people to follow their passions.

The Gate is a friendly creative arts group and space based in Shepherd’s Bush. The group supports people with learning disabilities, autistic people, and those with mental health support needs in Hammersmith & Fulham.

We want to congratulate The Gate on their award and making Hammersmith & Fulham a more vibrant, creative, and accepting place to live!

For Valentine’s Day, we are celebrating something that matters to all of us: relationships.

At Certitude we ensure that everyone can live the life they want, and that includes having relationships. Wanting love and connection is normal for everyone and it shouldn’t be treated as unusual or out of reach.

Our creative studio The Gate will be taking over the brilliant Spanners Club in Brixton this evening for a night of jamming!

Improvisation genius Kenichiiwasa will be joining forces with The Gate’s Friday jam band, now officially known as Love Permanent. You can watch The Gate facilitators jam alongside incredible members including Labake Sabbath and Kingmramazingoffical.

The Gate is based in the heart of Shepherd’s Bush where people can explore their individual creative talents and projects, and work together on collaborative projects with the local arts scene.

With the London Marathon soon approaching we want to highlight some of the projects that our incredible runners are fundraising for and how you can support them!

This year we have 4 runners who will be taking on the 26.2 miles in London’s most iconic run, and they aren't just running for the finish line, they’re running for a cause.

The money raised will be going towards our community projects such as The Gate, Connect and Do, and Stepping Up which helps the people we support to connect with their local community and explore new passions and interests.

Today we are marking Safer Internet Day, and this year it is all about AI and staying safe online.

AI is becoming part of everyday life and, while it can be helpful, it also makes it harder to spot scams and false information. That’s why staying safe online matters more than ever.

Today is Time To Talk Day, the nation's biggest mental health conversation. This year’s theme, “Brave The Big Talk”, encourages us all to push conversations beyond the surface and check in with each other.

We asked our SiaC (Solidarity in a Crisis) peer support team how they would approach having a challenging conversation with someone who is struggling with their mental health.

Their advice was simple: “Be kind, soft, open and hold space”. This approach can help prevent people from reaching crisis point and create a sense of belonging, hope, and support.
