🎉 Huge congratulations to our three runners, Rachel McClelland, Anna Frazer and Liz Brown who successfully completed the London Landmarks Half Marathon on Sunday, in aid of Vision Care🏅.
Well done!! We are very proud - and very grateful for the amazing fundraising you have done - collectively raising £2.5K for our clinics 🙏 👁️

❄️ WHY YOU SHOULD DONATE TO OUR CHRISTMAS APPEAL ❄️
Hearing from our volunteers is always inspiring - as they see first-hand how something as simple as an eye exam or a pair of glasses can change lives by opening doors — to opportunity, connection, confidence, and safety.

Our Plymouth team were buzzing on Thursday - 📈 6 TESTED ✅️ 6 DISPENSED 🛍 1 COLLECTION 💻 1 REORDER 🪛 1 REPAIR .. but more importantly they were buzzing from seeing how our eyecare service is a stepping stone for people in prioritising themselves and their health:
🫶 A rough sleeper living in a tent who had lost his glasses and was missing the pleasure reading gives them
🫶 A patient who had used our service last year - and came by because their glasses had been stolen - they were delighted we could help again and told the volunteers how they'll be marking a year of sobriety in January and was about to sign up to a course on understanding trauma.
🫶 A patient who was struggling from eye strain from wearing ready readers - and needed some distance glasses - plus eyedrops to help with dry eye.

A great night had by all at The Exeter Inn in Chittlehamholt, in Devon last night - packed with people enjoying the Christmas quiz. Steve and Hazel have been hosting monthly charity quizzes for a number of years in support of local charities - and this year Vision Care is one of the 2 charities they are supporting. Over £500 was raised from the quiz last night - from entrance fees and the raffle - lots of Christmas jumpers on show - and extra points given by the quiz master ' Grinch' to those who looked the most festive. Thank you everyone!! With your help more people affected by homelessness will be able to receive free eyecare through our clinics in Exeter and Plymouth! 🎄⛄🎅🏻🎁 The Exeter Inn

❄Vision Care was one of the charities supported by Henleaze Community Christmas Festival on Wednesday - so Ruth, Blythe and Alison went along to help sell raffle tickets. Monies raised will support 3 local charities - including our clinic in Bristol 🎄
