Soul yoga classes led by Marie:
Marie is a dancer, choreographer and yoga instructor who graduated from Shiva Yoga Peeth in Rishikesh, India, the birthplace of yoga. She has performed, taught and choreographed internationally in theatres such as The Royal Opera House in London and Tanzfabrik Berlin. Her passion for yoga, spiritual and somatic practices for the last 15 years has led her to integrate various styles to her practice, learning and being inspired by great teachers such as Usha Devi (direct disciple of BKS Iyengar), as well as Lara Baumann in quantum yoga, Sarah Powers in yin yoga, swami Sudhiranand in Hatha style, but also contact improvisation, martial arts, physical theatre, chakra healing amongst other body/art forms. She is currently interested in finding unity in life, in physical and spiritual practices through creation, experimentation and sharing practices. In her life Marie wishes to combine Yoga, dance and joy, as tools to create a better world by creating values such as awareness and gratitude. Soul yoga description:
Soul yoga follows the structure of a yoga class, incorporating breathing meditation, chanting, asanas, while keeping a continuous creative flow. Influenced by Marie’s background in dance and choreography, each class sets a different focus, from an anatomical or poetical reference to moving structures such as spiralling, extending and flexing, finding qualities, uncovering relationship with the inner- outer world... allowing self-research and playfulness.
