Today - on National Pet Day - we’re celebrating the heart of everything we do; our love for animals!

A career in veterinary usually begins with a realisation of how important animals are in our lives, and that deep connection to our animal companions is what brings us all together 💚

We couldn’t miss an opportunity to shine a light on some of the beloved pet pals & mascots of Team VetYogi! Here’s to the animals who ground us, teach us, and fill our lives with joy… our inspiration and our purpose!

Sometimes we all need a reminder of our “why”, especially on tougher days in vet med.

Working in veterinary isn’t really stressful, right? 🤔

Hahaha, April Fool! Of course it bloody is - we all know how challenging it can be…

What if it didn’t have to be *AS* stressful though? And what if you had tools that could help you to process the mental & physical effects of stress without having to carry them around? That gets heavy fast 😩

April is - though we feel pretty well aware of stress every month! - and we will never get tired of sharing how the ancient practices of yoga, meditation & pranayama (breath work) can help manage stress in this crazy modern world 👌🏻

Scroll for your reminder, and if you are stressing RIGHT NOW then check out our 5 min practices available on the VetYogi Collective homepage, free for everyone to try:

A Moment for Self-care Yoga & A Moment for Collection Meditation

Given the veterinary-associated backgrounds of all our VYC teachers, we have the privilege of creating classes & content around specific vet clinic/business scenarios, so the stress-busting starts here 🙌🏻

Let us know in the comments - what’s your go-to practice or pose for when you’re stressed?

Do you know what happens in your brain while you are practicing Yoga Nidra? 🧠

1 hour of Yoga Nidra can feel as restful as 4 hours of non-REM sleep, and while that may feel like magic, it’s all about what’s happening to your brain waves…

We know when working shifts, feeling fatigued, and juggling life/family, you might not have time for a full hour. That’s why we have a selection of shorter Yoga Nidra classes available on the VetYogi Collective, as we help make yoga & meditation work for you!

Happy first day of Spring 🌼🌱🌷

Today is the Spring Equinox here in the northern hemisphere, which means winter is officially over! Now we shift from darkness & cold, to light & warmth - with longer days and the promise of summer just over the horizon ☀️

Our wonderful VetYogi teacher & RVN Linds has a beautiful 60 min Hatha Yoga practice on the VetYogi Collective to help you gently transition from the yin energy of winter into the yang energy of spring/summer.

🗣️ EXCITING EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT 🗣️

Having been asked multiple times if VetYogi has any in-person retreat events on the horizon, we can finally say YES!

I am teaming up with the wonderful - ECC vet & life coach - to host an intimate & restorative retreat at her beautiful property in Assens, Denmark 🇩🇰

Together, we want our attendees (4-6 people) to feel like you have stepped into some much-needed space for healing yoga, meditation & breath work, plus self-development & wellbeing CPD, as well as of course enjoying the locality, which is why we are calling our collaborative event the

Happy Mother’s Day! Today is a beautiful reminder of the nurturing, intuitive and receptive energy that lives within all of us. ✨

In yoga philosophy, this is often described as yin energy – slow, soft, reflective and grounding. It balances the more active, outward yang energy that many of us live in day-to-day.

But yin isn’t just for women, and feminine energy isn’t just for mothers.

We all carry both yin and yang within us, and practices like yin yoga help restore balance between the two.

To celebrate Mother’s Day, we’ve made a free Yin Yoga class available on the VetYogi Collective as a little gift to our community. 🌙

Whether you’re a mum, caring for others, or simply feeling the need to slow down and reconnect with yourself, this practice is here for you.

Take a pause. Soften. Receive.

International Women’s Day 👑

Last year we celebrated a whole host of women within the vet community doing incredible things, and we still love to see it!

This year we wanted to take the opportunity to show our appreciation for the expanding team of women specifically on the VetYogi Collective (Mark - we’ll shout you next time 😄)

Since launching our online yoga, meditation & wellbeing platform with just 2 teachers a couple of years ago, we’ve now welcomed several more from a wide variety of roles within veterinary & different backgrounds…

Between us, our VYC women are currently represented across first-opinion vetting, ECC vetting, specialist pathology & research, vet nursing, wildlife rehab, end-of-life care, mental health nursing, veterinary industry, lecturing, entrepreneurship, motherhood, environmentalism, coaching, leadership & so many more professional & life skills! 🙌🏻

The women on our platform come from several nations across the world, and bring their wealth of expertise & experience from different walks of life to our yoga, meditation, wellbeing, fitness & educational classes/content, as well as to our VetYogi and wider communities 💚

Women simply make everything better! Honoured to be surrounded by this amazing team, and forever grateful for the support, dedication, creativity & empowerment of women as a collective.

SPVS Congress 2026 🐛

Wonderful to be a part of the Demo Area showcasing calming breath work techniques that can be used during stressful moments in practice 🧘🏻‍♀️ Give us space and we will bring the shala vibes!

Our first event was definitely made by the people - amazing to have back for Team VY with special guest baby VetYogini too 👶🏾

Thanks to Lauren of for providing super comfy extra seating, and how lovely to be neighbours with Hannah of the fabulous 💚

As per usual, didn’t take enough pics/didn’t even get pics with most of the people we loved to see - sign of time well spent and enjoyed!

Huge thanks to the SPVS committee & organising team for having us, and congrats on an awesome event 🙌🏻

Modern life pulls us everywhere but here, yet ancient wisdom gently calls us back to now 🪷

Feeling present and in the moment shouldn’t be a luxury, and our brains are simply not wired to be constantly aware of everything happening everywhere else at all times!

When the past feels too heavy and the future too uncertain, the present is where we can be to regulate our nervous systems and feel more grounded.

Read our ‘Power of the Present Moment’ blog to find out how tending to the present moment plants seeds of peace in our lives 🌱

Puppy Yoga - Cute but is it Kind? 🐶

As someone who is both a vet and a yoga teacher, this is a topic I’ve been meaning to speak on for a while now…

Following a recent conversation with a well meaning client who assumed - given my dual career path - that I must be a big fan of it (spoiler alert - I’m not 😆), I’ve finally made time to sit down and articulate my thoughts & concerns properly around the inclusion of young puppies in public yoga classes:

https://vetyogi.com/blog-details/puppy-yoga-why-im-concerned-as-both-a-vet-and-a-yoga-teacher

Give it a read and drop your thoughts in the comments 👇🏻 Would also love to hear from any vet behaviour colleagues/friends with additional insights/knowledge to consider!

Valentine’s Day can be full of love & companionship, but it can also bring up challenging emotions around lack, loss & unfulfilled hopes/expectations.

Given that we believe true love starts from within, we return to the heart of the practice: Ahimsa - non-violence in thought, word & action 💚

“If you truly loved yourself, you could never hurt another” - Lord Buddha

When we meet ourselves with compassion, patience, & kindness, that love naturally ripples through us - spilling out and nourishing our relationships, our communities & ourselves

If you are struggling today - and for many of us, truly feeling love towards ourselves can be uncomfortable or an alien feeling - treat yourself as you would a pet or animal in your care! Do even just one thing to show yourself some love, such as taking yourself for a walk, getting a little treat, words of affirmation, or getting cosy in your favourite spot…

✨ Read more about Ahimsa in the veterinary world on the VetYogi.com blog (link in bio)
