Don't Let Back Pain Steal Your Halloween Fun! 👻
October is here, and whether you're planning a horror movie marathon or prepping for a big night of trick-or-treating, it's easy to let activity slide. But you've still got weeks until the big night! Don't let a sudden flare-up keep you on the sidelines when the kids or grandkids are ready to hit the sidewalks.
Here's how to keep your spine happy and healthy while enjoying the season:
➡️ Take a "Commercial Break" Stretch: Planning a scary movie marathon? Don't stay glued to the couch! Use every commercial break (or every 45 minutes) as a reminder to stand up, gently stretch your arms overhead, and take a quick 1-minute walk around the room. Movement is medicine!
➡️ Enjoy the Trick-or-Treat Trek: The night of Halloween is often a long, vigorous walk! Start prepping now by getting in regular, brisk walks. Not only will you enjoy the crisp fall air, but you'll build the endurance you need to keep up with the little ghosts and goblins without pain.
➡️ The Power of Small Chunks: You don't need a huge workout. Just focus on breaking up long periods of sitting. If you're working on costumes or carving pumpkins, set a timer and make sure you shift your posture, stand up, and move your neck and back every 30 minutes.
Remember: We're here to help you move and feel great so you can focus on the spooky fun. Got a nagging ache? Give us a call before Halloween night!
