Whatever you do, stop treating extensions like natural hair.

Washing extensions is NOT the same as washing natural hair.

And this is where most people go wrong.

You now have more hair.
More density.
More responsibility.

If you rush it, your extensions will feel dry, heavy or start matting.

Here’s how I teach my clients to wash their hair properly:

Step 1 — Double cleanse
Gently massage the scalp only.
Do not rub the lengths.
Rinse thoroughly. Twice.

Step 2 — Towel dry FIRST
Conditioner does not work on soaking wet hair.
If it’s dripping, you’re diluting the product.

Step 3 — Brush the conditioner through
Fingers are not enough.
Use a brush to evenly distribute through every strand.

Step 4 — Leave. Rinse well. Then dry properly (Part 2 coming).

Extensions are an investment.
Aftercare protects both the natural hair and the Slavic donor hair.

Luxury hair extensions require luxury maintenance.

This is the part people don’t talk about.

Not everyone is suitable for hair extensions.

And the reason isn’t your hair type.
It’s maintenance.

Extensions require regular appointments to:

• Protect the health of your natural hair
• Prevent matting and tension
• Keep the blend fresh
• Maintain that seamless look

If you travel often, don’t have time, or don’t want to invest in regular upkeep, extensions may not be the right choice for you.

And that’s completely fine.

Skipping maintenance compromises your natural hair and the extensions will start to look heavy, grown out and dull.

Good extensions aren’t just installed well.
They’re maintained properly.

How much hair do you actually need for hair extensions?

It depends.

When working with single-donor Slavic hair, every bundle is unique.
It’s not factory made — the structure, density and volume vary each time.

That’s why the amount needed can only be properly assessed at consultation.

For this client, I ordered 150g — and had some spare, which I’ll keep for her maintenance appointments.

Because bespoke extensions aren’t about stuffing in as much hair as possible.
They’re about balance.
Correct weight.
Correct blend.
Long-term wear.

Will 150g always be enough?
No.
But for her hair, it was perfect.

Save this if you’re thinking about extensions and want them done properly.
