If you think K-Tips and Fusion Bonds are the same thing… they’re not.

K-Tips are pre-bonded and usually harder.

Fusion bonding is created during fitting using loose hair, which means I can customise the bond size, colour blend, and placement to suit your hair as I go.

They’re more flexible, and in my opinion much better for finer hair when fitted correctly . This client is over 2 months in and her bonds are still perfect because she follows the aftercare and she’s been having fusion bonding for over 2 years. It is actually the method of choice of many of my clients.

But with that flexibility comes responsibility…

If you don’t dry them properly, moisture can soften the bonds too much and cause shedding.

This is why aftercare is just as important as the fitting.

Good extensions are never just about installation.

They’re about maintenance too.

this is what most clients think is hair loss…

it looks scary, I know.

When I remove or maintain extensions, you’ll see what looks like a lot of hair coming out, but this isn’t your hair falling out.

This is natural shedding that’s been trapped in the attachments.

We naturally lose around 80–100 hairs a day.
When you’re wearing extensions, those hairs don’t fall away like usual — they stay secured until maintenance.

So when they’re released… it all comes out at once.

This is exactly why regular maintenance is paramount .

If left too long, the trapped hair builds up and the support at the root weakens
The extensions can start pulling or matting
