In the last two-parts workshop I participated, via Rooted (an amazing communal online space!) facilitated by Alixa Garcia (if you do not know her work it's worth checking all she does, from heArt, working with the imaginal, to somatic, to liberation work), she had this prompt, which has been extremely insightful for my personal exploration and deeper inquiry within. I thought these may be also helpful prompts for others in the path of inner reformation whilst proactively striving to support positive change in the society where one lives.

Alixa Garcia is also offering an online Course which I cannot recommend enough:

A new academic year is starting, I have resumed work, grateful to be alive and to create value every day with my job.
Going away and using more resources is so vital for people dedicated to others. How do you resource yourself?
For me, Nature is the best healer, together with being able to enjoy the warm sunshine (not too hot, thank you!) of the season near a water source (the Mediterranean sea especially) and being with family and or friends.

"Envisioning and co-manifesting a just and thriving world is an act of reverence for everything that brought us here. This time is inviting us all to become Imaginal, vision seekers, catchers of future moments untold; dream-weavers despite - and because of - the cessation all around us."

I particularly loved the truth in this paragraph:
"If a plant were wilting we wouldn’t diagnose it with “wilting-plant-syndrome” – we would change its conditions. Yet when humans are suffering under unliveable conditions, we’re told something is wrong with us, and expected to keep pushing through. To keep working and producing, without acknowledging our hurt."

Society’s understanding of mental health issues locates the problem inside the person - and ignores the politics of their distress, says psychologist Sanah Ahsan

The research work of Dr Sará King with Dr Dan Siegel, at The Garrison Institute and the MOMA in New York, are showing that abstract art particularly bring a meditative, well-being impact to the viewers.

We are of course very interested in the therapeutic effect of both making and viewing art.

As Daisaku Ikeda states:
“Art is the cry of the soul from the core of one’s being. Creating and appreciating art set free the joyous soul trapped deep within us. Art, quite aside from any question of skill or its lack, is the emotion, the pleasure of expressing one’s life exactly as it is. That is why it is impossible to separate fully human life from art”

Dear all, we had a wonderful first Sound Bath in the CoVo (Connecting Voices) building last night, to celebrate and bless the new large room upstairs finally being fixed.
Let me know if you would be interested in participating sometimes, as we are thinking to do this monthly.

Also, the CoVo landlords are looking for Tai-Chi and Qi Gong teachers to teach classes there. If you know anyone, please point them in my directions!

I work and manage the therapy room in the first floor, part of the Arts & Therapy Sanctuary; I am also looking for therapists to fill some of our days: Child Psychotherapists/Counsellors, Adult Psychotherapist/Counsellors, Hypnotherapists, Acupuncturists, Massage Therapists would be perfect for our room use. We have already an Integrative Child Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor (me), a fantastic Reflexologist and a wonderful Craniosacral practitioner using the space.

Thank you!

I am sharing one of my slides on a Trauma Awareness Training I offer to students of child psychotherapies, inspired by the work of Cornelia Elbrecht and her wonderfully useful book Trauma Healing on the Clay Field.

Simple ways to anchor and bring some sense of resourcefulnness especially when we feel wobbly. I hope it helps.
