At Kingly House, our specialist neurological rehabilitation service in Leicestershire, we believe that each resident should have a life well lived. And for Martin, one of our residents, that means doing the things he’s always loved: grabbing a coffee and taking in a theatre show.
Martin moved to Kingly House in September 2023. Living with Huntington’s disease, a progressive neurological condition, comes with a unique set of daily challenges.

At Kingly Croft, our specialist neurological rehabilitation service in Leicestershire, we support adults to regain their confidence and independence.
One of our residents, Mark, is an example of what encouragement - paired with the right activity - can help unlock.
We spoke to Ida Chatburn, Registered Manager at Kingly Croft, who told us about Mark and how his love for horses has led to a newfound confidence.
We’re always grateful to receive wonderful feedback from residents, patients, the individuals we support, family members, and professionals across our services. These compliments reflect the dedication and compassion our teams bring to their work every day.
To our colleagues across Active Care Group - thank you for your hard work in making these moments possible. 🧡

Blackheath Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre, our neurological rehabilitation service in South East London, is looking for a skilled and compassionate Clinical Psychologist to join the team.
As Clinical Psychologist, you will support adults with neurological conditions through expert psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention - working alongside a Consultant Neuropsychologist who will provide clinical supervision.
At Conifer Lodge, our residential service for adults with learning disabilities and autism in Cambridgeshire, the team recently enjoyed a fantastic team-building day, bringing together both the individuals we support and colleagues for a morning of challenges and creativity.
The day was full of activities designed to test patience, build trust, and strengthen communication.
Sean, one of the individuals we support at Moorpark Place - our residential service for adults with learning disabilities and autism in North Ayrshire - has been enjoying some refreshing local walks over the past few days.
He’s also taken his love of space one step further by adding his name to NASA’s Artemis II rocket, which will orbit the moon in 2026. Sean loves watching rocket launches and was thrilled to be part of this landmark mission in his own way.
There are no limits to his aspirations. 🧡

Just a few months ago, Brandon was unable to walk, talk, or feed himself. After collapsing at home with meningitis and sepsis, he spent seven weeks in intensive care and was left bedbound and unable to communicate.
But today, Brandon is walking again. He’s returned home. And on his final day at Frenchay Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre – our specialist neurological service in Bristol – he got down on one knee and proposed to his partner, Jodie.
From personal achievements to service-wide milestones, it’s been another busy week across Active Care Group filled with stories that show the power of support and progress.
Here’s a quick round-up of what’s been happening across our services:

The focus at Conifer Lodge, our residential service for adults with learning disabilities and autism in Cambridgeshire, is not just on self-care and daily living skills; our colleagues also put in place strategies to build confidence through learning new skills, hobbies, and activities.
One example is an individual we support who recently enjoyed a fun morning bowling. Bowling is just one of the many activities he participates in (with support from our colleagues) to stay active and connected to his local community.
Our team at King’s Norton Hospital, our acute mental health service that supports adults with severe and complex mental health conditions in Birmingham, is looking for a Forensic or Clinical Psychologist to join us on a part-time basis.
This is a brilliant opportunity to work in a specialist, multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality, evidence-based psychological care to individuals with complex mental health needs.
If you’re looking for a supportive setting where your skills can make a meaningful difference, we’d love to hear from you.
