🌟 Today we honour the Anniversary of Mahāsiddha Thangtong Gyalpo - a remarkable Tibetan Buddhist master whose life was a true expression of wisdom and compassion. Born in the 14th–15th century, he was a great yogi, engineer, teacher, and tireless benefactor of all beings. Among many contributions, he built numerous iron-chain suspension bridges across the Himalayas to ease travel and pilgrimage, founded monasteries and temples, and inspired the tradition of Tibetan opera as a means of uplifting communities.

🕉️ Thangtong Gyalpo is also renowned for his Avalokiteśvara (Chenrezig) sadhana - a practice composed “for the benefit of beings as limitless as space” and widely recited throughout Tibetan Buddhist practitioners.

🙏 Join us this Sunday at 10:30 am for Chenrezik Puja, where we will recite this cherished sadhana composed by Mahāsiddha Thangtong Gyalpo - a powerful practice of compassion and loving-kindness for the welfare of all beings. 💛📿

Buddhist teaching on The King of Aspiration Prayer. Booking now open – find the link in the event page.

📍 Regent’s University, London
🗓 Saturday 21st March 2026
🕥 10:30am

Radiant with boundless compassion, The King of Aspirations was spoken by the great bodhisattva Samantabhadra at the close of the Avatamsaka Sutra. Counted among the Five Royal Sutras, it remains one of the most widely practised prayers in Tibetan and East Asian Buddhism, now increasingly embraced in the West.

Lama Jampa will teach this profound text through the elegant commentary of the 19th-century master Drakpa Gyaltsen, a close disciple of Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo.

In the afternoon, Lama Jampa will bestow the Initiation of Sitatapatra (White Umbrella Deity), renowned in the Vajrayana tradition for protection from obstacles, harm and adverse conditions. This is a rare opportunity to connect with her enlightened activity within an authentic lineage context.

📿 Dakini Day & Remembrance of Rendawa Shonnu Lodro🌙✨

Today is Dakini Day, an auspicious day associated with wisdom and awakening in the Tibetan Buddhist calendar 💫🌺

Today also marks the anniversary of Rendawa Shonnu Lodro (1349–1412), one of the great masters of the Sakya tradition 📜🙏

Rendawa Shonnu Lodro was a renowned scholar of Madhyamaka (Middle Way) philosophy, especially the Prāsaṅgika approach 🧠

✨ He is also remembered as one of the principal teachers of Je Tsongkhapa, the founder of the Gelug school 🪷📚 Their profound teacher–student relationship helped shape the course of Tibetan Buddhist thought.

On this Dakini Day, we remember Rendawa Shonnu Lodro with gratitude for his vast contribution to the Dharma and his enduring legacy across Tibetan Buddhist lineages 🙏🧡
