Today, on Universal Children’s Day, we’re reminded of something at the heart of SuperCare...

Every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and supported.

This day marks the UN’s commitment to children’s rights and wellbeing

But for those of us working in children’s care

It’s more than a date in the calendar...
It’s a moment to reflect on why our work matters.

Our team work every day to create environments that keep a child's wellbeing as the number 1 priority!

The young people we support often arrive with complex experiences...
and our job is to ensure they’re met with understanding, not judgement
Stability, not uncertainty.

Because a child’s wellbeing isn’t a task we complete .. It’s a promise we uphold.

Universal Children's Day is a reminder

But at SuperCare
It’s our everyday commitment.

Training never stops at SuperCare!

Over the past two weeks, some of our London teams have been taking part in an extensive training course.

Covering subjects needed across every part of the job.
From safeguarding to report writing.

We believe that keeping our adults trained and up to date is key to providing the highest standard of care possible.

We make sure our sessions are interactive and engaging

Like in these photos, where our teams split off to create social stories designed to help their young people navigate different situations.

They absolutely smashed it! 🙌

We’re incredibly proud of the dedication and passion our adults show every day, and we’re committed to keeping them at the top of their game.

The best kind of fireworks? The ones that spark imagination in young minds.

But this time, we decided to mix both!

Last week our young people learned all about Guy Fawkes and Bonfire Night.

Why we celebrate it and how to stay safe while enjoying the sparkle.

They explored colour mixing through creative firework pictures, learnt the Makaton signs for firework and loud, and designed thoughtful posters on firework safety.

For many of our SEN learners, the sights and sounds of fireworks can be overwhelming.

That’s why preparation matters.
It helps turn what could be a sensory challenge into a moment of wonder. 🌟

Because learning isn’t just about history
It’s about helping every young person feel safe, included, and ready to join in.

Training doesn’t have to be boring!
At SuperCare, it’s not just about PowerPoints and checklists.

We believe learning should be fun and interactive.

Recently, our Eastbourne team took on the Balloon Chair Challenge 🎈
Split into two teams, they had 20 minutes, 60 balloons, and a roll of tape to build a chair strong enough to hold our RIs, Emma and Charley.

Both teams worked brilliantly together!

But only one design could withstand the test…
with the other leaving Charley flat on the floor! 😅

This was a hilarious, hands-on way for the team to collaborate, problem-solve, and bond.

Teamwork is at the heart of what we do
after all, a home only runs smoothly when the team does too.

Happy Diwali from all of us at SuperCare! ✨

Today, we celebrate the Festival of Lights.
A time for joy, reflection, and togetherness.

At SuperCare, we take pride in embracing diversity across all our homes!

Encouraging our young people to explore not only their own cultures but those of others as well.

We believe that every individual, regardless of their background, should not only feel accepted but celebrated.

Diwali is a beautiful reminder of the light that comes from understanding, inclusion, and respect!

From our homes to yours, we wish a Diwali filled with happiness, hope, and new beginnings.

Meet Polo and Nala.. Tudor's Newest Residents 🐾

Polo has joined the home as a support animal for one of our young people.
While Nala is a pet for the whole home

They felt a therapy cat would help them keep on track and keep calm during incidences.

And this furry feline friend turned out to be the missing piece of the puzzle for them!

Since arriving, he has made the child feel so much more settled in and really made Tudor feel like home.

Things like that is what we love to hear.

These are the children's homes and we do everything in our power to make them feel that way.

Support animals can be a powerful tool, especially in a SEMH setting.

So we are happy to be welcoming Polo and Nala to the SuperCare family!

Yesterday, one of our young people from Eastbourne celebrated their Sweet 16 🎉
And what a day it was!

A peaceful walk in the woods, a tasty KFC meal, a lively disco, and of course… cake! 🎂

It’s always so special to see our young people enjoying their birthdays 💚

The smiles and pure joy from this young person as they got to do some of their favourite things truly warmed our hearts.

💫 Happy Birthday from everyone at SuperCare!
We’re so glad you enjoyed your big day. 🥳

Our young people and team at one of our London homes have been busy over the past month

And as summer came to an end, the fun certainly didn’t stop!

🏹 One of our young people has been taking aim at nothing but bullseyes... sharpening their skills at an archery classes and having a great time doing it.
🍽️ The team and children also dressed to impress for a well-deserved family dinner out together.
🎨 And to top it all off, the incredible work our young people have been doing with our therapy team was showcased in a beautiful art exhibition, featuring the art they’ve created alongside their therapists.

This is just a glimpse into the amazing things happening in our homes every day

And as you can see, they are thriving!

A huge thank you to the team for everything you do.

Seeing the smiles on our young people’s faces is exactly why we do this. 💚

This Black History Month, one of our young people has shared something truly inspiring.

The young person from one of our London homes recently wrote a beautiful poem at school, celebrating African culture.

And we couldn’t be prouder!

The words they shared were truly touching and deeply moving.
Reflecting a powerful sense of understanding of the culture.

To see them embracing these different cultures and stories at their age is nothing short of inspiring.

At SuperCare, we encourage all our young people to accept people no matter who they are or where they come from.

This poem is a wonderful reminder of this.. and shows real character and acceptance from this young person.

💚 We are incredibly proud of this and the message they’ve shared with everyone.

1 in 5 children in the UK struggle with mental health issues.
A statistic that's almost doubled over the last few years

Today, on World Mental Health Day, we’re reminded how vital it is to notice the unseen and support those who need it most. 💚

At SuperCare, mental health is something that hits close to home.

With our first ever SEMH home opening this year, we’re proud to be creating a space where children can feel safe, supported, and understood.

Mental health challenges often go under the radar.. but they shouldn’t.

Today is a reminder to be kind, check in, and remember that you never truly know what someone might be going through.

If you’re struggling, young or old, please reach out to someone.
Treat your mental health like you would your physical health.

Together, let’s keep the conversation going and work towards a world where stigma around mental health no longer exists!

Improving Our Team's and Bonding Together Is So Important For Us.

And it was a busy week of this is Eastbourne.

Our Head of People Hayley Harkins ran her first People Processes workshop on Tuesday.

Working with the Eastbourne leaders to really understand every step of our adults SuperCare journeys.

And iron out any speed bumps they run into along the way.

We're super excited to have issues like this being resolved as Hayley takes charge in our new role.

Our Eastbourne Super Squad team also had a 'smashing' time this week.

Nothing says team bonding like a rage room right??

It's an out of the norm activity..
but it was a great team building exercise.

Everyone was able to get together, let off a bit of steam and just enjoy eachothers company.

The work done outside the house's with our team are just as important as what goes on inside.

A close, well prepared team is a recipe for success.
