Do you often feel disconnected from your body & ungrounded?๐
I know how it feels love. I regularly used to (and still do, itโs a working progress!) exit my body when faced with difficult & uncomfortable situations. Feeling so disconnected from my body I didnโt know how to feel present or alone with myself, finding distractions so that I didnโt have to face myself.
My whole life I felt different. Like I lived in a world where I didnโt belong, because of this I felt SO much resistance to connecting & being present with my body.
Does this sound familiar?
Disconnecting (exiting) from our body & its sensations is a coping mechanism many of us use, unconsciously.
You may experience:
*Feeling like you are not here: always floaty and in your head
*Daydreaming most of the day
*Depression
*Loneliness
*Confusion around your emotions - unable to feel them
*Inability to face yourself and spend time alone
*Projecting your own troubles into others because you are so disconnected with what your body is showing you
*Inability to identify when your body gives you signals
I know & have experienced all of the above! There is a way to overcome these struggles & connect to your body in a way that feels safe for you. How on earth do I do that? Well, let me share this little gem with you...
A fun & pleasurable way to connect with your body is to move it. Movement naturally pulls your energy into your body, meaning you are present & grounded.
When you get home I want you to light some candles, put on some music and move your body.
As you move visualise yourself in your sacred place: is it a garden, lake, the top of a mountain...
Movement means that we can embody where our minds and emotions take us. In this exercise you are embodying where your visuals take you, in a safe & fun way.
*What does your sacred place look like?
*How do you feel when you are there?
*What do YOU look like?
*Who do you BECOME?
Now move your body in alignment with the space around you & the Goddess / God / animal / feeling you are whilst there.
