If you are genuinely maintaining your weight on 1,300–1,400 calories per day, it’s a strong sign that further weight loss is likely unnecessary… and probably not worth the trade-offs.

For most people, this isn’t actually the case. It often feels like they’re eating this little, but “cheat days,” subconscious snacking etc push their true average intake higher than they realise.

However, if this truly applies to you, it may be time to shift your focus away from weight loss and toward other goals.

Many people don’t struggle with their weight because they don’t know what to eat. They struggle because they have years of emotional eating, guilt, restriction, bingeing, or diet culture working against them.

These are all things I’ve seen to work with clients, have a read and choose some things to implement 👀

How can someone have great bloodwork despite eating certain foods?

I actually agree with most of her caption on this video. The issue is that her initial video, replies, and other posts (particularly recent ones mocking practitioners who recommend reducing red meat intake to manage cholesterol) are contradictory. They also clearly show her bias and why she’s relying on anecdote rather than the body evidence, which is not what you’d expect from a healthcare professional.

Calling foods ‘good’ or ‘bad’ contributes to an all-or-nothing mindset. That usually leads to overly strict food rules and less mental flexibility, which can backfire and make long-term weight management harder.
