I created this page with the purpose of using it as a platform for me to share information about lifestyle, nutrition, exercise, and health in general! It is also a way for people to ask questions that they may have, and for me to answer to the best of my abilities. If you do have a genuine question but don't want to post on the page, PM me and I will share and answer it anonymously. The level of information provided will vary, varying from advice for beginners, to topics that may interest those of you who are slightly more advanced! Yeah you’re right in order to asses whether food is health promoting or not we should totally ignore hundreds and hundreds of studies and ask a child what they like instead 🤦🏼‍♂️😂

Studies don’t factor in what other foods people eat!? 🧐

There’s a real problem myself and .matthewnagra have noticed in this space: people criticizing studies and pointing out their supposed flaws despite clearly never having read them. This example is a perfect illustration of that and why it can be problematic.

If you’re going to cite research, the least you can do is take the time to read it so you don’t end up looking like a complete pelican 😏

Obesity does not increase disease risk? 🧐��Now to reiterate, there were elements of this video that I agreed with, and topics such as weight stigma are things I’ve covered many times.�
However, denying that excess body fat - particularly visceral (belly) fat - can be harmful is simply misinformation.

Only other exception is charcuterie 😏

If you are genuinely maintaining your weight on 1,300–1,400 calories per day, it’s a strong sign that further weight loss is likely unnecessary… and probably not worth the trade-offs.

For most people, this isn’t actually the case. It often feels like they’re eating this little, but “cheat days,” subconscious snacking etc push their true average intake higher than they realise.

However, if this truly applies to you, it may be time to shift your focus away from weight loss and toward other goals.
