As part of International Women’s Day, I went on the hunt around the internet, looking for comments (and added a few of my own) from men talking about women as a reminder of how we should see them, how we should treat them, and how much good they bring to life.

None of us should accept the blame and polarisation that occurs online and in real life as the way things are.

We should all be about equality, feminism, and building a world of men and women helping each other, not fighting each other.

I realise there is still a lot of change that needs to happen, given gender inequality still exists in most countries, but hopefully this allows at least one woman to know there are men on their side, and for at least one man to join it.

I ask any men to add to this list if you want and for any women to accept these words.

If this resonated, if this sounds familiar, then I’m here, if and when you need it.

Therapy isn’t about judging you or labelling you. It’s about understanding what you’ve been carrying and why you had to carry it in the first place.

You don’t have to feel fully ready. Most people don’t.

You just need enough courage to start while you’re still unsure.

Before you label yourself “anxious,” ask what you’re responding to.

The nervous system reacts to inconsistency, and silence.

Not every emotional response is a flaw in your wiring.

Sometimes it’s information.

The real work isn’t shaming yourself for feeling it, it’s deciding what you’re willing to tolerate once you do.

I’m not claiming to know a lot about this yet.

Even as a therapist, I know very little about the long term impact of ChatGPT.

Anyone speaking with certainty is working with limited evidence, because we simply haven’t had enough time to observe the consequences properly.

But here are some of my thoughts on it.

Feel free to challenge as always.

“If I don’t chase, I’ll lose them.”

Chasing can feel like effort but a lot of the time it’s just fear and conditioning.

Secure dating is communicating clearly and letting their behaviour answer the rest.

If the connection only survives when you chase, it’s being built on unsteady ground.

Where do you struggle in the texting phase?

Opening your heart doesn’t always mean staying.

It means telling the truth, then acting with self-respect.

You don’t open your heart by becoming “better”.

You open it by coming back to who you actually are and acting on what you deserve.
