Fed up with dieting? Struggling with confidence or stress eating?

My next online 12-week Freedom From Diets Programme starts this April.

This programme helps you move away from restrictive diets and food guilt, and instead build a healthy, sustainable relationship with food. It is a supportive space where you can rediscover your love for food and create lasting healthy habits - without pressure or judgement.

What’s included:
• 12 weekly online group sessions, covering topics including portion sizes, understanding food labels, sleep, motivation and building sustainable habits
• Evidence-based, non-judgemental support
• Group activities with like-minded people
• Summary resources emailed after each session
• Monthly 1:1 coaching calls with me
• Email support between sessions
• Private WhatsApp group for updates and motivation
• 1:1 follow-up reviews at 6 and 12 months after completing the programme

What previous clients have said:

"Before starting the programme, I was an irregular eater and over-eater. Since starting the programme, I find it easier to resist sugary foods and have more enthusiasm to exercise more. I have seen improvements in weight loss, energy levels, sleep quality and activity." - Vanya

"This was the first time since I was born that I didn’t turn to food when I was stressed."

"I’m not having fizzy drinks, only water - and now my family are doing the same too."

"My blouse fitted perfectly - I was so happy."

To keep the programme supportive and personalised, only 5 spaces are available.

Do you want to eat less, but worry you will just end up feeling hungry?

Here’s one simple tip that can really help - and no, I’m not going to say “just put less food on your plate”… which is probably a relief 😅

What I am going to say is this: eat slower.

It really can be that simple.

So many of us eat in a rush, while scrolling on our phones or watching TV. When that happens, it’s easy to eat more than we intended and not even enjoy it.

Have you ever finished a packet of crisps or chocolate during a movie and thought, “Wait… how is it gone already? I don’t even remember eating it?”

That’s a classic sign of eating on autopilot.

Here’s something to try at your next meal:
👉 Put your cutlery down between bites.
This is something I use myself and with my clients all the time. It takes around 20 minutes for your fullness signals to reach your brain. By slowing down, you’ll often find you naturally eat less, enjoy your food more, and feel more satisfied afterwards.

Remember, this takes practice.

So give it a go at your next meal… and let me know how it goes in the comments below 🩷

On Saturday I had the pleasure of being invited to speak about healthy eating on a budget at Resourceful Women’s Network Charity as part of their International Women’s Day celebration.

It was great to share some practical tips on cost-effective food shopping, budget-friendly cooking, and ways to reduce food waste.

I also enjoyed meeting lots of women from the public sector as well as fellow business owners who are doing incredible work in their communities.

Thank you so much to Resourceful Women’s Network Charity for having me and for organising such a lovely event! 🌸

When a client says: “I need to cut carbs to lose weight.”
I hear this nearly every week - and the truth is, carbs are not the enemy 🍞

Starchy carbohydrates like bread, rice, and pasta are our main source of energy. They fuel our brain and muscles, helping them function properly, and provide other nutrients, which is why they play an important role in a healthy, balanced diet.

What really matters isn’t cutting them out - it’s the type, portion size, how we cook them, and what we add to them.

A few simple tips to keep in mind:
• Choose wholegrains where possible for fibre, important for gut health (drink plenty of water when increasing fibre intake)
• Aim for around ¼ of your plate at meals to be starchy carbohydrates
• Opt for healthier cooking methods (for example, oven-baked or air-fried instead of deep-fried)
• Use herbs and spices for flavour rather than excess salt

Starchy carbs are meant to be enjoyed, not ignored 🩷

Did you know emotional eating is far more common than people realise?

Last night I delivered my Navigating Emotional Eating webinar and it was such a great session.

These conversations are so important, especially for helping people realise they’re not alone.

During the webinar we explored:
• The difference between physical and emotional hunger
• Common triggers for emotional eating
• Why we often develop emotional associations with food
• Practical strategies to help manage and overcome emotional eating

We finished with a really insightful Q&A and it was lovely to see some new faces alongside my regular attendees.

Thank you to everyone who joined!

And if you couldn’t attend live, don’t worry - the webinar is now available to purchase here: https://sairanutrition.co.uk/webinars

💌 Valentine’s Day reminder: love all foods.
Yes - all foods. There is really no such thing as “good” or “bad” foods.

And it’s not just other people saying it - it’s us too. “I shouldn’t eat this.” “This is naughty.” “I’ve messed up my day.” The thing is, when we label foods as bad, the moment we eat them, we feel like we have done something wrong… even though all we did was enjoy something we like.

Here’s the truth: it’s completely fine to have these foods now and then. You can enjoy them, savour them, and move on - without guilt or shame.

Food is meant to be enjoyed, not feared. With a bit of time and practice, you can:
🍰 Have one slice without finishing the whole thing
🍟 Enjoy snacks without beating yourself up
💖 Listen to your body and what it actually needs

Be gentle with yourself. Love your food. Love yourself. ❤️
