According to the British Heart Foundation:
➡️ Coronary heart disease causes around 66,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s one every eight minutes.
➡️ More than 30,000 women are admitted to hospital each year following a heart attack.
➡️ Heart Disease kills more than twice as many women as breast cancer.
Menopause itself isn’t a direct cause of heart disease, but falling oestrogen creates an environment that promotes multiple cardiovascular and metabolic risk factors:
• Higher LDL cholesterol
• Increased visceral fat
• Rising blood pressure
• Higher inflammation
• Insulin resistance
• Sleep disruption
• Mood and stress changes
By supporting women with small, achievable lifestyle changes, personalised exercise plans, nutrition guidance and tailored prevention strategies, we can help lower their risk of heart disease and improve long-term heart health. 🫀
