Eclipse season is soon to start in early February. The Eclipse heralds the start of the Year of the Fire Horse and is just 3 days before the Saturn Neptune conjunction. It is a North Node Eclipse at the end of Aquarius - the odd one out from the other eclipses this year which fits the disruptive Uranian ruler very well.
The February 17th Solar Eclipse Visibility Map shows the Eclipse in the South Indian Ocean close to the Chagos Islands and the Antarctic. It has most effect where it is most visible. It is ‘annular’ so a ‘ring of fire’ eclipse still very impactful.
The following Eclipse on March 3rd is Lunar at 12 degrees of Virgo- that makes the midpoint inside the eclipse ‘corridor’ of the Solar and Lunar eclipses February 22nd. Mark your diary. We could be feeling changes already and for weeks afterwards.
It is doubly potent because it is conjunct Mars and Square to Uranus. The astro map for the eclipse had Pluto cross lines with Chiron over Iran.

This is a slide series that covers the coming of astrology during February, 2026. The Return of the Fire Horse.

When astrologers say ‘big’ they really mean ‘eventful’ with many significant planetary aspects. February is ‘big’ in that way not in number of events but their importance so we need to buckle up.
Here are a few moments to notice including a beautiful conjunction of Eros and Psyche.

Plus a look at the Astrocartography, the Solar Eclipse visibility and the Geodetic positions. The Solar Eclipse is on the degree of my natal Moon. So we'll see what that brings.

I went to see Absolute Bowie last night at the 02 Academy Islington, and they are impressive for a tribute band, fully committed and they sound and look almost like the real DB who of course no one can ever match - but they had a good hard sound and the audience was into it totally for the 10th anniversary of his death (about which there are some doubts )- a very good version of ‘Ashes to Ashes’ so I enjoyed it - didn’t think I would but the songs are just so good, too good not to hear again played live - so a lot of fun overall. He’s a Blackstar and- not a gangster. The singer is called John O` Neil and while the voice is not 100% there - it is good enough to make you feel he is channelling Bowie himself - t’s uncanny- he overdoes the movements though and does a lot of crowd rallying-Bowie was actually very precise and economical when he moved his body and only did it for dramatic effect but this guy strokes poses all the time which Bowie never did but Bowie rarely spoke to the audience too. but it is fine as they are competent musicians and can play it right. I Bowie was Capricorn Sun, Aquarius rising and a moon in Leo- he has a fascinating chart which I have written about a couple of times (link on my website find Bowie in the archive). I just wonder if AbsoluteBowie have to pay royalties on every song?

That Orpheus connection

Saturn has been in Pisces since 2023 and that has helped to bring the cold harder edge of reality. It has steadied some of the Neptunian mish-mash and given it form and discipline again, so we can see at least the problems that having no boundaries creates. Now we can see where to go forward when it returns with Neptune to Aries with that grand conjunction waiting to happen on February 20th, 2026.

But from October 22nd to January 26th Neptune’s does this parting glance to its own sign. This last episode is reminiscent of the story of Orpheus and Eurydice. We have been travelling through hell- the underworld is a symbol of the unconscious mind- and something has to be lost and left behind. But the more we regret what's gone, the less able we are to move on. Looking back can cause things to wither and die. It is double edged as we need to learn from past mistakes while at the same time keeping our eye on the goal of a better world and that requires intense vigilant focus as good and bad in equal measure can be created by casual everyday thoughts. Mercury too can have this ability to travel in the underworld and he is there now in Scorpio unearthing stories that will go big when he arrives in Sagittarius on 30th October.

But just to recap the story: Orpheus’ wife Eurydice was bitten by a snake and died, so a distraught Orpheus travelled into the underworld to Hades to bring her back alive. He sang and played his lyre to Hades and Persephone the King and Queen and persuaded them to deliver her back to life. He was granted his wish, but there were conditions to follow. He was ordered ‘never to look back’ on his way out of hell, as if he did, he would forfeit his wife forever and lose her.

He passed through the Stygian realm, passed many dead souls and ghosts of the unknown on the way (very much like that last degree of Pisces). But Orpheus was unable to maintain his focus forward. He turned back and looked. Eurydice was gone. This is something we all may need to be wary of during these last months of 2025. There is an Asteroid Orpheus and what I find interesting is that it will reach the Galactic Centre by the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in February 2026.

Changes in 2025 have been profound and even disturbing, but they’re not over yet. I found a message on Instagram that said ‘May the last months of 2025 be the best plot twist your life wasn’t expecting’. That can go either way.

Neptune stays at the anaretic degree of 29° for almost 3 months- even when it moves forward on December 11th, it does so only by minutes at a time staying at this degree until January 26th.

This article is the result of a recent journey to Vietnam. It combines travelogue with astrological analysis, geodetics, astro-cartography and a number of photographs I took.
