Life as a mum of two 😍❤️
I am so blessed that these two gorgeous boys chose me to be their mama. Jasper was born just before Christmas in a super quick beautiful home birth. He’s now just over four months and we’re finding our new rhythm. His big brother Leo has been amazing and Jasper has taken his smothering kisses like a champ 😂🙈.
I’m soaking up all those contact naps, knowing this time it doesn’t last long 🥹.
I’ve been getting my work brain slowly back into gear and planning my return on the 2nd of July. I’ve loved having so much home and family time but also at the same time missed using my hands and connecting with people on their health journeys.
I can’t wait to touch base with all my beautiful clients and hear all their news and get back into the swing of things.
Until then…enjoy all this so needed beautiful sunshine 😍🙏🏻❤️☀️

says to look around your home to see where your highest values are. Our house is bursting with books and my small little corner in the house where I sit and work/journal/meditate is stacked with books. Most of the books are about pregnancy and fertility. When I was pregnant in 2020 I was off work for a lot longer than I had planned so I spent most of the time reading and prepping for the birth.
Recently I’ve had lots of women contact me who are close to delivery but wanting to check their alignment before their birth. This is my absolute favorite part of my work. It is such a golden opportunity and gives me such joy to pass on as much knowledge as I can to prep them for their birth and give tips, exercises and techniques I found helpful and have read and researched. Here is a small stack 😂 of the books I’ve made way through and have loved all the wisdom they have passed on. ❤️🤰🏻

5 years ago today I opened my doors and saw my first client in my very own practice. The practice I had dreamed of for years and designed down to the finest detail. I’m very proud of Atlas Chiropractic. It’s evolved and changed over time as I have evolved and changed as a person and Chiropractor.
The greatest joy of all has been the wonderful people that I have had the pleasure to have along the journey. It’s such a privilege to be part of my clients life journeys and support them over time.
It’s not always sunshine’s and rainbows with running a business and having a young family but I do feel incredibly lucky to call this my work and the lovely people I see on a daily basis.

When we’re adjusted our nervous system responds by reducing our stress response and increasing our healing and restorative state called parasympathetic nervous system. I have found with clients over the years but also myself that reducing my sympathetic stress response enables me to hold my adjustment better and stay at my best. The tools I turned to are
🙏🏻 Daily Vedic meditations
🗣Remembering and checking in with my breathing. Am I breathing from chest and shallow or deep slow rhythmic breathing. Yoga Nidra and body scanning can be really helpful for this
☕️Reducing/ No caffeine intake and being mindful of what I put in my body. Knowing the triggers that make my system to feel overwhelmed
✍🏻Journaling really calms my mind and turns down the inner noise
🌲Getting out in nature and having my bare feet grounded in the grass
💃🏼Dancing with Leo in the kitchen and feeling free and joy

Some days can be easy to do this but the hard days are the ones we need to go back to our check list. This is my meditation spot to remind me that it’s always there for me and to stop for a moment to recharge.

There are often so many factors that lead to our health being compromised. It’s so rarely one event that causes a particular symptom. We are very complex beings. What we do know for certain, is our body will always be functioning at a higher level and work more efficiently when we are aligned and have a clear nervous system.
As a Chiropractor this is my sole focus when working with my clients. To ensure they leave with a nervous system free of interference.

What’s been going on this week...

One of the reoccurring themes I’ve seen with clients this week is how periods of high stress has a direct impact on their bodies. 💥
The beauty of having a long term relationship with a client and checking them for years, you get used to knowing their body. You can see patterns and what their presentation frequently looks like.

Periods of stress for that individual can trigger different or exaggerated presentations in their body. As a Chiropractor we can intuitively pick up on this and explain to clients how their body or nervous system scans maybe showing differently because of the stress. We sometimes refer to this as a stress pattern. 🤯

It’s can be helpful to recognise those patterns for yourself too. For example if you’ve been burning the candle at both ends and this triggering a migraine, vertigo attack, insomnia, radiating back pain, jaw pain- this is just your body trying to communicate with you. And asking you to stop, slow down, take a breath and come back into balance. 🙏🏻✨
It’s then time to maybe get checked more often by your Chiropractor or take an extra days holiday, an early night, time
outside in nature or simply more breaks from the screen.
Just a reminder to listen to your body and those early warning signs. 🔆

Our spine acts as a moving suit of armor, protecting and encasing our nervous system. 🤲🏼🧠💫
There is no other organ in the body that is kept so safe. The bony structures of our spine and cranium house the brain and spinal cord. Allowing messages to freely travel up, down and all across the body. To every cell, muscle, organ and part of being. 💡

The sole intention of Chiropractic is to ensure there is no interference in those message that could be produced from a lack of correct movement in the spine 🔑💛

Sometimes we don’t know if we have interference in our nervous system. Our body doesn’t send us any signs that something isn’t functioning optimally. But often it does. That can look like: headaches, migraines, dizziness, pain, fatigue, brain fog, jaw pain, frequently run down, poor digestion and so on.

I love checking little gorgeous babies and kids in my practice but when it comes to my own little babe I personally prefer a colleague to check him. My brain can’t compute being his chiropractor, so I just stick to being Mummy 🥰🙏🏻.
I take him every 2 weeks to make sure his nervous system is functioning optimally as he goes through huge growth changes. Lauren has also been amazing at helping with his developmental milestones and in particular his crawling style, which is so important in brain development 🧠👁✍🏻

Yesterday I started back up my hobby and love of horse riding 🐎. It’s been a while... and this morning I feel like I’ve been hit by a bus 😂🤯. Muscles are sore, aching and I’ve just waddled into the practice this morning 🤦🏻‍♀️.
The thing is, I’ll go again next week and the week after and my body will slowly start to “ease back into the saddle” and adapt to this new form of activity.
This is a similar scenario to when we start our healing journey. As a society we are used to instant gratification, instant results and can easily forget that healing is anything but easy and straight forward. It takes times for your body to ‘adjust’ and adapt to the changes. It takes times for muscles to change and neuroplasticity to take place. ✨
It absolutely gets easier over time but can be rocky to begin with.
🌟 Remember to be kind to your body and trust the process
🌟Think how long do you think your body has tried its best to adapt to months, years, maybe even decades of physical stressors?
🌟Be patient and know that healing is a journey, not a quick one stop destination
