We now have a varied online schedule with live classes streamed through Facebook live and Zoom 6 days a week, which you can also enjoy on catch up. We have just started to venture back to real life classes in Muswell Hill too - and it's so lovely to be together again. ๐ŸŒน Weโ€™re on a Chakra Journey! ๐ŸŒน

In my weekly yoga classes โ€” Monday evenings at St Andrewโ€™s and Wednesday mornings at my Home Satya Studio โ€” weโ€™re exploring the chakras, one by one.

โœจ Last week we grounded ourselves in the Root Chakra, and this week weโ€™re flowing with the Sacral Chakra.
Iโ€™m also inviting our online members to join this beautiful journey, with short and sweet 20-minute yoga sessions dedicated to each chakra.

๐ŸŽฅ The first two sessions are already filmed and available now for online subscribers. Iโ€™ll be recording a new one each week for the next five weeks โ€” so you can follow along at your own pace.

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ The chakras are our emotional centres, and exploring them like this is a gentle way to give ourselves an emotional MOT.
Each week offers a chance to pause, reflect, and nurture the parts of ourselves that need a little extra care.

๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸฝOVERWHELM - Iโ€™ve been feeling a bit of this over the last few days, that familiar shift from ring ok to not ok, the anxious mind, the insomnia, the ruminating thoughts, the self doubt. Itโ€™s a state of mind, usually triggered by whatโ€™s going on in our life, but itโ€™s an internal process, that shift of the nervous system away from regulation to regulation- fight / flight or freeze / fold.

๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜– But what do we usually do when it happens? Often we waste energy on trying to control things we canโ€™t control, or wishing things were different. Neither of these strategies help ๐Ÿคช

๐Ÿ•‰๏ธ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ So for me the first thing is to acknowledge and accept that Iโ€™m feeling overwhelmed- applying a little bit of self-awareness (svadhyaya in yoga terms). The next action - adding in a layer of self compassion - reminding myself that it is okay to feel this way. None of us are ok all the timeโ€ฆfact.

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ•‰๏ธ After acknowledging and accepting, tapping into immer wisdom - what is it that has pushed me to this? Have I been triggered to an old feeling? What is actually about what is going on and what is my old stuck patterns that I am working on changing? In practical terms what do I need? What can I delegate? What am I worrying about that actually doesnโ€™t matter? Am I seeking perfection when I could loosen my grip on that a bit? How can I ease the physical responses of anxiety in my body?

๐Ÿ•‰๏ธ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ Solution - Friends, therapy, supervision, self compassion, breathing, yoga, pilates, weights, dog walks, and Iโ€™m feeling centred again. Wonder what you do to regulate if you feel overwhelmed? Iโ€™d love to know.

Iโ€™m very excited to be starting my final year of training to be a therapist this week end!

Itโ€™s going to be a tough year, but I want to confirm that my plan is to keep all the classes going with the help of George Wrafter and Ruth RL Sports Therapy (and probably others too going forward!)

Also, when Iโ€™m qualified I will combine the therapy with my classes - so Iโ€™m not going anywhere!!

Here is a heads up of when I will be away over the next two months and when you will be having Ruth and George.

We offer over 30 Fitness classes per week you can mix and match in Muswell Hill, in various hired community venues. There are no contracts, and we offer amazing value for money. We offer monthly subscription options and some of our classes are available on a pay-as-you-go basis (check online for info). Our classes are led by a team of 11 highly skilled and experienced instructors who are always on hand to help and advise you.
