So lovely to have friends and Riley at my class yesterday. We connected, strengthened and stretched.

🕉️ COME FOR A CUPPA! Everyone is welcome to pop into the wave hub which is in Muswell Hill every Wednesday and Thursday, 10.00-4.00pm, located in the United Reform Church, on Tetherdown. It is an inclusive space for people with and without learning disabilities, there is a delicious café and inclusive art activities. It’s a lovely place to sit and work if you fancy taking your laptop and watching the world go by.

🕉️ The cafe is a charity and relies on money raised from the cafe , fundraising and charitable donations - any donation is gratefully received.

It is with such great sadness that I am letting you know that one of our long-standing JCW members Pauline Rippon has died recently.

Many of you will remember Pauline from pilates and yoga classes, and also the dance aerobics we used to do on Saturdays before lockdown.

Pauline is the member who did every single class I taught online on catch up since lockdown!

It is particularly devastating news as she has just retired and had just started day time classes with me.

Pauline’s husband Sam has asked me to share the link above, where you can leave a message and tribute for her if you’d like to.

Also, if you’d like to attend her funeral, you would be welcome - please do let me know as Sam would like to know the number of people to expect for catering etc? Thank you.

The funeral is Thursday 19th March 1.00pm at Hoop Lane crematorium.

RIP lovely Pauline. ❤️

🌠 In yoga this week we have been exploring how we might re-frame “Blue Monday”, and instead consider how nature invites us to lie low, stay home more, rest, and be somewhat introspective with our energy. Saying no to social invitations or holding back on passionate new intentions and resolutions doesn’t necessarily mean we are low and de-motivated, we are simply “wintering”, and that’s ok.

🌠 Nature is doing just this - the plants are bare, the seeds are tucked away underground, and although it looks like everything is dormant, in fact they are quietly and patiently storing and conserving energy, ready for expansion when the light and warmth return.

🌠 For me, the real shift and feeling of a fresh start comes when the snowdrops appear at Imbolc on 1st February, which marks the mid-point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. Another significant moment is the clock change in March, which offers a welcome invitation to slowly come out of hibernation mode.

🌠 Well done to everyone this winter who’s managing to challenge their Abhyasa and find the consistent energy and discipline to show up, it’s not easy in the winter season 🌠🌅
