The Cannabis Clinic for Patients with Psychosis (CCP) is a specialist dual diagnosis service for adults experiencing psychosis who are regularly using cannabis, integrating mental health care with person centred addiction support in collaboration with people with lived experience.

The clinic was established with funding from Maudsley Charity, whose support has been instrumental in developing this innovative, evidence based service.

In this film we hear from Stacey Llewellyn on her recovery journey. She received an award at the Mental Health Awards in recognition of her inspirational story and now volunteers as a peer mentor, supporting others working toward abstinence and recovery.

The clinic is led by Marta di Forti, Consultant Psychiatrist at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and Professor of Drugs, genes and Psychosis at Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King's College London alongside Senior Dual Diagnosis Practitioner Jodie Lynn and Assistant Psychologist Daria Semikina.

Eating disorders are serious mental illnesses and they require the right evidence based treatment.

For most people this begins with psychological therapy. For some, especially where physical health is at risk, more intensive support may be needed.

Recovery often starts with restoring regular eating and physical health. Then the deeper emotional distress that’s driving the behaviours can be explored and addressed.

With the right support people do recover and go on to live full lives.

People with eating disorders often feel deep shame about their behaviours. If you focus only on restriction, over exercising or food, they may shut down.

Instead try leading with care.
“How are you doing?”
“How can I support you?”

Talk about feelings not behaviours. Listen more than you speak. And if the first conversation doesn’t go well, try again. Staying alongside someone matters more than saying the perfect thing.

Eating disorders are not purely female illnesses. Many men struggle in silence.

Sometimes it shows up as extreme gym routines, rigid muscle building goals or strict protein focused diets. Because these behaviours are socially accepted they can sometimes go unnoticed.

Men deserve support too. Opening up the conversation could make a real difference.

One of the biggest myths about eating disorders is that they’re about food. In reality they are serious mental illnesses driven by emotional distress.

Another common myth is that people with eating disorders are always underweight. In fact over 90% are at a healthy weight or above.

You cannot tell who is struggling just by looking at them.

We’ve just launched a new video on Understanding Eating Disorders.

Eating disorders are serious and complex mental illnesses. They are not just about food. They are not always visible. And they can affect anyone regardless of age, gender or background.

In this video our Eating Disorders Therapist explains:
- The myths that stop people getting help
- Early warning signs
- Why eating disorders are about emotional distress
- How treatment works
- Why recovery is possible

Greater understanding reduces stigma. And stigma is one of the biggest barriers to people asking for support.

Grief isn’t linear or tidy. It can hit on birthdays anniversaries holidays or a random Tuesday afternoon. It asks for space. It asks for patience. It asks for respect.

This poem, written by Camilla Fadel, speaks to the inner world of grief the part most people don’t see. The panic the overwhelm the need for someone to sit nearby or step back. Grief doesn’t end. It stays rooted in the love that shaped it.
