Traditional Japanese Acupuncture

Traditional Japanese Acupuncture Offering expert and tailored treatments in the community almost two decades. A three year training course in Shiatsu Japanese bodywork followed.

My journey into East Asian medicine began in 1994 when I began attending a local Wu Style Tai Qi class. Wanting to learn more about East Asian medicine I studied Traditional Chinese Acupuncture and undertook a clinical apprenticeship and worked within the NHS. I then returned to the Japanese arts and studied several specialised Japanese acupuncture systems in the UK, Europe and Japan. Since 2011 I have been travelling regularly to Japan to observe and train in the clinics of master practitioner Masakazu Ikeda sensei and Edward Obaidey who practice Traditional Japanese Acupuncture. I am enormously grateful to them for allowing me to absorb their deep knowledge and understanding of this powerful healing art.

Natto. Every time I go to Japan, I try this. It’s often found at the breakfast spread. And every year I have hated it 🤮 Until this year. Now it’s only mildly nauseating. Something is changing 🤔 Natto is a fermented soybean food that was introduced thousands of years ago in North Japan. They have amazing health benefits including bone health, gut health & heart health.
