SweetBeing Holistic Therapies and Yoga Hello and Welcome to Sweet Being…Im Jo. I am also a certified Bodytalk, Reiki and BARS practitioner. Be Sweet x
Jo

I am a certified Yoga and Prenatal Yoga teacher with over 10 years’ experience, practising, teaching and generally hanging out on my beloved yoga mat. These are three wonderful holistic therapies each offering their own unique experience. Sweet Being is about the art of being sweet, finding and enjoying the simple sweet experiences in life. Yoga and Holistic therapies are where I find some very sweet experiences and these are what I aim to share with my yogi students and clients. My yoga classes are delivered in a fun and relaxed way, with the main focus being on connecting in with the body to release the stresses and tensions of modern day living. Classes usually follow themes, which I find help us to identify tangible ways of incorporating the philosophies of yoga into our practical lives. These include, 5 Senses, 7 Chakras, Yoga for Body Reciprocals and Yoga for specific emotions, yoga for seasonal changes. I also offer Meditation classes in the same course format, run over 6 weeks. I am a big advocate for visualisation techniques and these, as well as breathing techniques are the focus of my meditation classes. You can purchase yoga classes in blocks of 6 (You’ll have 8 weeks in which to use these) or you can dropin, just pop me an email or a text message so I can ensure there is space for you on the day. The holistic therapies are wonderful as stand along modalities but are also very complementary to yoga. All the modalities I offer are non-invasive, gentle and safe, suitable for clients of all ages and also mums to be from their 2nd trimester. Therapy sessions are offered in person at the studio or at your home (for an additional fee) I also offer Bodytalk remotely and will email the session to you once its been done. Contact me directly to make a booking. I do hope to see you at one of my classes or in my treatment room soon.

The tragic su***de of Caroline Flack has filled news feeds over the last 24hrs. It’s heartbreaking to think that this was the only option she felt she had.

Sadly she’s not alone. Many people tonight, despite witnessing the fallout from Caroline’s death will still be contemplating ending their own life.

6000 people in the UK died by su***de in 2018. That’s 16 people each day. WHO puts the global number at 800,000 per year. 1 person every 40 seconds.

Su***de is the highest cause of death in men under the age of 45 in the uk.

Figures suggest that 1 in 9 people have ATTEMPTED su***de.

These statistics while shocking may still feel distant to you ... but if you look around you, in your family, your friend group and your place of work and you think about a number like 1 in 9.... starts to feel much closer to home.

What can we do?

1. Buck the taboo, break the stigma and start talking about su***de openly! Especially amongst those closest to you.

2. Watch out for changes in behavior in those around you. The ‘they are just crying out for attention’ comments can be so damaging. If someone is displaying what you deem as attention seeking behavior, give them attention!

3. Learn how to reach out and connect. If you know of someone who might be struggling with their mental health and you don’t feel confident approaching them about it, do some research online or take a course (MHFA or other)

4. Learn about the support available around you so that you can signpost people to help.

– Shout for support in Crisis - Text SHOUT to 85258 in the UK to text with a trained Crisis Volunteer.

- Samaritans 116 123 is open 24hrs 7 days a week for calls.

Take care of yourselves and take care of each other x

I AM THE ELBOW
You may think that I am only here to enable you to bend your arm. I do much more than that. My state of health is a reflection of the state of health physically and mentally of many areas of the body. I can, therefore, tell you a great deal about yourself.
Six meridians (acupuncture energy channels) flow through me. The meridians of the lung, pericardium, and heart flow along my inner aspect. The outer is aspect is controlled by the meridians of the colon, triple heater, and small intestine. When certain attributes of these meridians are dysfunctional because of things you do, it will reflect in my well-being.
The inside meridians are Yin meridians and the dysfunctional aspects which relate to me are negative reactive tendencies, poor adaptability (lung), inability to protect and nurture the heart emotionally (pericardium), restricted awareness of life, sadness or depression (heart). When any of these aspects are unbalanced, I will often give you a sign (symptom) along the inside of my arm.
The outside meridians are Yang meridians and relate to the psychological concepts of being intellectually over-challenged, inability to differentiate good/bad, right/wrong (small intestine), letting go and forgiveness (colon).
Not "flowing with life" and struggling against that flow is one of the most common causes of chronic elbow problems. The key word for the elbow is flexibility. Our elbows reflect our flexibility to life, an ability to adapt and be spontaneous without getting bogged down and constipated by life. The more flexible we are, the more we are able to flow with life, forgive, differentiate right and wrong, intellectually process life, and adapt to our surroundings. If our elbows are losing their flexibility through pain, swelling, arthritis, or injury, then we are being told to look at those aspects of our life relating to flexibility. ~ John Veltheim

We are all familiar with the many numerous memes about stepping outside the old ‘COMFORT ZONE’

We have all at some point decide to be that fish and jump! Thinking ‘YES! Look at me! Im jumping outside of my comfort zone!’ only to end up back in the same bowl feeling deflated, a little let down and possibly more jaded than before the jump attempt.

Its difficult to change thought patterns, beliefs and habits that have built up over a lifetime of experiences. That’s why so many of us want to and try to change, but the results are just fleeting and we end up feeling demotivated and often worse off because of seeming failure.

Getting out of the Comfort Zone is a great idea, but no one ever tells you HOW TO DO IT or it they do, the concepts are so abstract it’s hard to follow.

Your conscious mind is only responsible for 10% of your perception and experience of the world. The other 90% is subconscious, your belief systems, fears, phobias, experiences and memories which all amalgamate creating a mask/filter or lense through which you experience life.

If you are trying to get out of the fishbowl using 10% of the resources available to you, its very unlikely that you’ll make a successful escape to the ocean.

In order to achieve lasting change, you must delve much deeper into your subconscious mind, it is only there that you are able to change limiting beliefs and self-sabotaging thoughts.

HERE IS THE HOW!

MindScape teaches you the tools you need to access your subconscious mind in an easy and very practical way so that you can gain perspective on your ways of thinking, habits, hooks and loops that are keeping you in your perceived ‘Comfort Zone’
