What a truly fantastic Red Nose Day we had at St David's Care Home , filled with laughter, creativity, and heart-warming moments as we came together to support such a meaningful cause ❤️

On Friday 20th March, our wonderful residents gathered in the activity room, ready to take part in a day full of fun, connection, and giving back. The room was filled with excitement as everyone embraced the spirit of Comic Relief 💟

The day began with a hands-on arts and crafts workshop, where residents carefully cut out images and created their own colourful and unique collages. This creative activity not only sparked imagination but also supported dexterity and encouraged lovely conversations and social interaction throughout 🎨

As the day continued, we enjoyed watching funny gag videos together, filling the room with laughter and smiles. The joy didn’t stop there, as each resident picked a joke from the Red Nose Joke Tin, sharing giggles and light-hearted moments that brought everyone even closer together 😂

It was so special to see so many smiling faces and to share such a meaningful day as a community. A huge thank you to our incredible residents and dedicated team for making the day so memorable and full of joy

At St David’s Care Home, days like these remind us just how powerful laughter, creativity, and togetherness can be 💫

This week, our care home was filled with a wonderful sense of calm, joy, and gentle energy during a truly uplifting Chinese-inspired movement session 🌸🥰

Led by the amazing Aurora, residents were guided through a beautiful series of Tai Chi movements and gentle upper body exercises. Each movement was slow, flowing, and carefully paced, creating a peaceful atmosphere where everyone could relax, stretch, and feel re-energised 🏮✨ The room felt serene, with residents fully immersed in the calming rhythm of the session.

As the session came to a close, Aurora brought even more joy with a graceful dance to traditional Chinese music 🎶 Her elegant movements and warm presence filled the room with smiles, and residents watched and joined in with delight, creating a moment full of happiness and connection

Aurora brings such warmth, positivity, and fun each time she visits, and this session was no exception. Our residents are still chatting about the experience, holding onto the calm and joy it brought them.

We are so grateful for these meaningful moments that support wellbeing, encourage movement, and brighten our days in the most beautiful way 💟✨

🌟 A heartfelt belated Happy World Book Day from everyone at St David's Care Home ! 🌟📚

On 5th March, our home took a moment to celebrate the magic of reading and the joy that stories bring into our lives. Books have a wonderful way of transporting us to different places, stirring memories and sparking conversations, and here at St David’s we are lucky to have some truly passionate readers among us.

Diane, Pradip and Brian are three lovely residents who simply love getting lost in a good book. You’ll often find them with a story in hand, quietly turning the pages, sharing interesting passages, or chatting about characters and plots with those around them. Their love of reading creates such a warm and thoughtful atmosphere, often inspiring others to pick up a book and join the conversation. 📖✨

There’s something really special about watching their faces light up as they talk about a favourite story or recommend a book to a friend. The joy, curiosity and enthusiasm they bring reminds us that reading is a gift that stays with us throughout life, offering comfort, imagination and connection at any age. 💬📚💜

Diane, Pradip and Brian truly inspire us all and help keep the love of books alive within our home. Their passion shows us that stories are meant to be shared, and that some of the best moments come from sitting together and talking about the pages we’ve loved.

We’d love to hear from you too… what’s a book that brings back happy memories for you? Let us know in the comments — our reading circle might just add it to the list! 📚💭💜

The festivities were made extra special with the wonderful entertainment from DJ Juan, who kept the room full of energy with great music and plenty of sing along favourites. Residents, relatives and staff all joined in, singing and dancing together, creating a fun and uplifting celebration that had everyone smiling 🎶💃

Residents were also treated to delicious cupcakes and thoughtful little gifts to mark the occasion, adding a sweet touch to the morning’s celebrations. Family members joined in the fun, making the event even more meaningful as loved ones spent time together sharing laughter and special moments🧁🎁

One of the most heart-warming highlights of the day was when relatives brought along their adorable pets to join the celebration. The furry visitors instantly brightened the room and brought smiles to everyone’s faces, making the day even more memorable for residents and staff alike🐾😊

With music, dancing, treats and wonderful company, the celebration was a lovely way to recognise the amazing mothers in our care and to create joyful memories together. A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a happy and memorable Mother’s Day for all 🌸 💟

Celebrating the Wonderful Women of St David’s Care Home 💜🌹

Happy International Women’s Day from all of us at St David’s Care Home. On Sunday 8th March we came together to celebrate the incredible women who live here, work here and visit here. They truly are the heart and soul of our home, bringing strength, grace, wisdom and kindness into everyday life💜✨

Colourful flowers and images of inspiring women were carefully cut out and used to create unique pieces of artwork. The room was filled with conversation, laughter and so much creativity as residents shared ideas and admired each other’s work🎨🌸

It was a wonderful way to celebrate the remarkable women who make our home such a special place. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so memorable. 🌼 Brightening March with the Marie Curie UK Great Daffodil Appeal at St David's Care Home 🌼

What a truly heart-warming morning we shared as we came together to celebrate the Great Marie Curie Daffodil Appeal with our wonderful residents, family members, and visitors 💛 The lounge was filled with warmth, creativity, and conversation as everyone gathered to take part in a very special arts and crafts session in support of such an important cause

Our amazing and creative Activities Coordinator, Agata, thoughtfully organised a beautiful daffodil workshop to mark the occasion 🌼✨ Residents carefully cut out their paper petals, gently stuck each piece together, and decorated their flowers with sparkling crystals and colourful decorative paper. There was such focus and pride in every detail, and plenty of smiles as each daffodil began to bloom before our eyes

The most touching moment was when each resident chose a special name for their creation, giving their daffodils their own personality and meaning. Rosalie lovingly named hers Daffodily 🌷 Philomena chose the bright and uplifting name Sunshine ☀️ and Pradip proudly called his Happy St David’s Day 🐉💛 Each name reflected joy, positivity, and the spirit of the day 😁

These cheerful handmade daffodils are now brightening our home and welcoming the spring season with colour and hope. They also serve as a gentle reminder of the incredible comfort, care, and support that Marie Curie provides to people living with terminal illness and to their families during the most difficult times!

A heartfelt thank you to Agata for creating such a meaningful and uplifting session, and to all our residents and loved ones who took part and made the morning so special. It was a beautiful celebration of creativity, compassion, and community 💟🌼

Last week at St David's Care Home , we took the opportunity to celebrate the incredible happiness, comfort and companionship that our furry friends bring into our home each and every day. Life simply wouldn’t be the same without them!

Of course, we have to start by introducing our very own resident cat, Milli, who has been a treasured part of the St David’s family for seven wonderful years. 🐱💖 Milli may have her favourite cosy corner in the laundry room, but she certainly doesn’t stay there for long! She loves to wander curiously into the activity room, playfully batting at our colourful scarves, and charming everyone into giving her a little treat from the drawer. She has a way of appearing exactly when you need a smile

Milli is also quite the music lover! When our fantastic performer Elvis came to visit recently, she managed to sneak herself into his speaker bag and enjoyed the show from what she clearly decided was the best seat in the house. 🎶🐾 It was such a sweet and funny moment that had everyone talking. Her gentle, affectionate nature brightens the days of residents, staff and visitors alike, and we truly feel blessed to have her as part of our community. She brings comfort, companionship and so much joy every single day 😻

We’re also incredibly thankful for our wonderful therapy dogs, Poppy and Gina, who visit us with their devoted owners. 🐶💕 Our wonderful residents always look forward to their visits. Whether it’s stroking their soft fur, playing gently, or simply enjoying a quiet cuddle. Those special moments together warm hearts, spark conversations and lift spirits in the most beautiful way

To keep the theme going, we spent the afternoon playing our Dogs and Puppies memory game, which brought plenty of laughter, friendly competition and happy memories🃏🐾

Pets truly are the best medicine. Thank you to Milli, Poppy, Gina, and all the amazing animals who fill our home with unconditional love and make St David’s feel even more like one big family❤️

What a flipping fantastic Pancake Day we had at St David's Care Home today! 🥞✨

Our wonderful Activities Coordinator Agata had our residents roll up their sleeves to make homemade pancakes from scratch. Everyone then chose from a delicious selection of toppings: fresh fruit 🍓🍌, zingy lemon slices 🍋, a dusting of sugar, and generous dollops of whipped cream! ❤️
