Your questions about weight loss injections, answered:

Q1: Are weight loss injections right for everyone?
A: Most people are suitable, but not all. A full medical assessment is essential, and they’re not appropriate for individuals with a history of eating disorders.

Q2: Is BMI the only factor that matters?
A: No. While these medications are licensed for certain BMI thresholds, we focus more on overall health, body composition and visceral fat distribution.

Q3: Do you need to be on them long-term?
A: This varies. In most cases, we recommend a minimum of 12 months to support metabolic change and habit formation.

Q4: How do you access them?
A: Weight loss injections are prescription-only and can only be provided following a full medical assessment by a healthcare professional.

Q5: Is microdosing safe long-term?
A: When prescribed and monitored correctly, yes. These treatments support more than weight loss; they’re about metabolic health and long-term wellbeing.

Weight-loss injections can be a helpful tool for some women (especially in midlife) when used appropriately and under medical supervision.

These medications work by supporting appetite regulation, blood sugar control and metabolic health. Many women notice reduced hunger, less food noise and an easier relationship with eating.

They are not a replacement for healthy habits, and results depend on realistic expectations, careful dose titration and ongoing medical support.

At The Harper Clinic, we take an individualised, evidence-based approach and often recommend microdosing to improve tolerability while still supporting metabolic health.

If you’re feeling wired, tired or overwhelmed, this is often a hormonal response; not a personality flaw.

Declining oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone make sleep lighter, stress heavier and your nervous system far easier to overstimulate.

Breaking the cortisol–sleep loop is one of the most impactful things you can do for your midlife wellbeing.

What’s the one symptom you’re struggling to get on top of right now?

Nutrition matters more in midlife than it ever has; not because you’re “doing anything wrong”, but because your biology changes.

As oestrogen declines, metabolism, bone health, blood sugar and inflammation all become more sensitive to the way you eat.

If you’re doing your best and still gaining weight, this is physiology; and sometimes a medical plan is what helps everything click into place.

What part of midlife nutrition do you find the hardest to stay consistent with? Comment below!

As the year ends, many women feel more tired, inflamed or “out of balance”, and it’s not imagined.

Hormonal shifts in midlife change your metabolism, energy and stress response, which is why simple, steady nutrition and lifestyle habits make such a powerful difference.

If you’re ready to reset now or in January, we’re here to support you: hello@theharperclinic.com

Struggling with weight in midlife isn’t about willpower; it’s about biology.

Declining oestrogen changes metabolism, fat storage, insulin sensitivity, appetite signals, inflammation and even sleep.

Your old strategies haven’t stopped working… your hormones have shifted.

GLP-1s aren’t a shortcut; they’re a clinical tool that helps your habits work again.

If you feel like you’ve “tried everything”, you may simply need a plan aligned with your biology.

Ever noticed your food noise getting louder in your 40s + 50s? 👀

Cravings… constant thoughts about food… never feeling satisfied?

It’s NOT a willpower issue. Hormonal shifts in perimenopause + menopause disrupt hunger, satiety + blood sugar.

This is where GLP-1s (Wegovy / Mounjaro) can help. They reduce food noise, stabilise appetite + support metabolic health.

Thinking about using a continuous glucose monitor (CGM)?

For many women in midlife, it’s one of the most powerful ways to understand how your body responds to food, stress and sleep in real time.
It helps make the invisible, visible; so you can make informed choices and improve energy, focus and long-term health.

At The Harper Clinic, we support women in interpreting their data and combining CGM insights with personalised nutrition, microdosing and HRT plans.

November is Diabetes Awareness Month 💛

It’s time to raise awareness of how midlife hormone changes can affect blood sugar.
Falling oestrogen can increase insulin resistance, putting many women at higher risk of pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes, often without realising it.

Early testing, lifestyle support and hormone balance can make all the difference.
Let’s start the conversation and empower more women to take control of their metabolic health.
