BMI (body mass index) is sometimes used as part of the eligibility criteria for clinical studies. A BMI over 25 may be required for certain trials, but this is not the focus of the research itself.

Participants are supporting studies into specific health conditions, helping researchers gather evidence that could improve treatments for many people.

Life experience plays an important role in shaping clinical research. As women move through different stages of life, their health insights help researchers better understand how treatments may perform across broader populations.

Clinical trials rely on informed and voluntary participation. Having access to clear information and supportive study teams helps ensure that each decision reflects personal circumstances and individual comfort.

By taking part in research, women contribute valuable knowledge that supports future medical understanding and helps shape upcoming studies.

Screening visits are designed to help determine whether a study is suitable and safe for each volunteer. Visits can take between two and six hours, depending on the specific study requirements.

The visit usually begins with an information session, where the study team explains the study details, potential risks and compensation. If you choose to proceed, a doctor and trained staff will carry out assessments to check eligibility. These may include a review of your medical history and current medications, physical checks such as height, weight and vital signs, and blood and urine samples for safety testing. An ECG may also be performed, along with pregnancy testing for women of childbearing potential.

You are encouraged to ask questions at any point during the visit. The study team is there to ensure you feel informed and comfortable before making any decisions.

Screening visits are an important first step in many clinical studies. Arriving prepared helps the visit run smoothly and ensures you have the time and space to ask questions.

Before attending, your appointment must be confirmed with the recruitment team. You will also be asked to bring valid photo identification and to follow any food, alcohol or medication instructions shared in advance. These steps are in place to protect your safety and support accurate study assessments.

You will have the opportunity to review the Informed Consent Document, discuss it with the study team and decide whether participation feels right for you. Screening procedures only begin after informed consent is given.

Receiving a diagnosis of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease can raise questions about what comes next. NAFLD often develops without obvious signs, which is why follow up and monitoring play an important role over time. Clinical research continues to improve understanding of how the condition progresses and how liver health can be assessed.

If you have been diagnosed with NAFLD and would like to learn more about this London-based study, you can view the full study details here → https://is.gd/rWSKF4
