I took this photo in Maui earlier this year – yep, lying in the shade of these palm trees and checking out what image I could make out in the drifting clouds. Talk about a relaxing moment.

On that trip, I re-committed to my notion that we don’t have to be on a great vacation with no regular life responsibilities to have “chillax” moments. And so, three times a day, I pause. I look
out the window at nature, sit outside for lunch or afternoon snacks between work appointments, or breathe deeply and stretch.

It is like a reset for the next time. And each time I do this, something is revealed – a way forward on something, someone pops in my head to reach out to, and yes, sometimes I hear things to check out / start or stop doing for my well-being. As a coach, I’ve said for years that the external things we want to be different are inside jobs. Same here. So, take that pause as you read this – really – take a slow, deep breath and notice what happens to your thinking pattern, heart rate, and how you feel. Can you feel it? That subtle shift as summer starts to wind down and the rhythm of life begins to change? I’ve been feeling it too—this gentle nudge to start “getting back in the groove” as we transition into a new season.

Lately, I’ve been sharing a lot about taking control of my health, and that’s still a big focus for me. But it’s not the only thing on my mind. With the change in seasons, I’m also taking a renewed look at my business, coaching, and brand. It’s like I’ve got this twinkling of excitement bubbling up—a new book idea is starting to take shape, and I’m feeling energized to dive back into my creative projects.

Life has a beautiful way of guiding us toward our true calling, even if the path isn’t always clear. Growing up in Texas, I was surrounded by a culture of hospitality, warmth, and resilience. These values were instilled in me from a young age, shaping me into the woman I am today. Yet, it wasn’t until I moved to Southern California that I truly understood what it meant to live my passion and embrace my authentic self.

Living your passion is about listening to that inner voice, the one that knows your deepest desires and dreams. For me, it was a journey of self-discovery, courage, and trust. I had to learn to trust myself and the universe, knowing that I was being guided to where I needed to be.

One of the most transformative moments in my life was when I realized that my passion wasn’t just about what I did for a living but about how I lived my life. It was about showing up every day as the truest version of myself, with all my quirks, strengths, and vulnerabilities. It was about sharing my gifts with the world and encouraging others to do the same.

Living authentically means letting go of the need to conform to others’ expectations and embracing who you are at your core. It’s about honoring your values, setting boundaries, and being unapologetically you. This can be challenging, especially in a world that often tells us who we should be. But let me tell you, dear friends, there is nothing more liberating than living life on your own terms.

I’ve learned that authenticity is a journey, not a destination. It requires constant self-reflection, growth, and the willingness to be vulnerable. But it’s in this vulnerability that we find our greatest strength. When we show up as our true selves, we create deeper connections, inspire others, and live a life filled with purpose and joy.

If there’s one piece of advice I could give you, it would be to embrace the journey of self-discovery. Take the time to understand what truly makes your heart sing. Surround yourself with people who support and uplift you. And most importantly, be kind to yourself. Remember that you are worthy of living a life that reflects your truest self.

Living your passion and being authentic is not a one-time decision but a daily practice. It’s about waking up each day and choosing to honor your truth. It’s about showing up in the world with grace, compassion, and courage.

Yesterday was the Spring Equinox, where the sun shifts and we start having more daylight than dark and the world starts to come alive with new life and bloom.

It's a time of renewal, growth, and new energy. Time to shake off the fog and get things started. For some, this is a time when they as people, begin to seek out their own transformation and growth.

How do I stay productive in the afternoon?

This is a question I have gotten in some of my success workshops and with our clients.

It is easy to lose focus in the afternoon and start to feel a bit low and sluggish.

1. Get up and move: Once you've been sitting at your desk for a few hours, it's time to get up and move around. A quick walk around the office or outside will help get your body moving again.

2. Take a break: It's important to take breaks throughout the day to give your mind a chance to reset and reorganized. It is especially important if you are feeling overwhelmed or bogged down by a project.

3. Eat healthy: What you eat can have a big impact on how you feel throughout the day. Make sure to include some protein and complex carbs at lunch to help you stay productive in the afternoon.

4. Stay hydrated: It's easy to get dehydrated when you're focused on a task or in the middle of something, but it's important to keep hydrated if you want to stay productive.

5. Set a goal for the day: Having something to strive for can help keep you focused and motivated throughout the day. Whether it's finishing a project or just crossing a few tasks off your list, having a goal will help you stay productive until the end.
