InDividual, Are You Original?
There are some subjects we can write many chapters on but only come up in brief mentions or a short excerpt here and there. A subject of this category came up by two of my favorite intellectuals last week. They took the same subject and expanded on it, producing amazing revelations to me which led me to a train of thought this morning...
Censoring has led many to use metaphoric and abstract language in order to communicate their message and this is another way of learning to pretend because they cannot really defend InDividual Rights.
Marketing is Pretending. All the things we see and hear through media is marketing, as a matter of fact when you study this subject in college which I did in my early twenties, the first thing you learn is that marketing is related to everything. From the toothbrush you use first thing in the morning to the last thing you do at night, watch a movie, perhaps, or using your favorite soap and night cream. There is a marketing campaign behind all those things.
Maybe it would be redundant if there was no competition between the companies producing these products and then there would be simple descriptions of the products according to the need they fulfill. Instead there are myriads of labels and descriptions for each product pretending being the best among other products, especially the health related products and pharmaceuticals!
Flooding our reality with colorful imagery, and/or health threats and advertising promises to alleviate them...but do all these products deliver all they promise?
A mere description of a product and then a sale and the product is accessible. But where does the whole lot of pretending fit in the picture. The solution to a problem as it is often described for a product or a thing does not arrive to that conclusion in the end most times, of course your toothbrush will, by your act, clean your teeth but even then, it is not the toothbrush that will clean the teeth but you cleaning by brushing. There are many other descriptions on products that promise things they do not achieve at least not as they say.
Still we are flooded with all these marketing and sales campaigns from morning to night to the point we can't.., because its impossible to, bypass all the unnecessary jargon to get to and read the simple essential things we need to get to our good living. And stop pretending, that all these marketing campaigns are really offering something of value to your life. Stop pretending you have the same hair and smile with that model on that package, stop pretending you are the most intellectual because you read a few more books and learned a few more strategies (marketing included).
And if everything is related to marketing then what about religions? Could they have been described to offer more than they actually could ever offer, therefore, could they be a distraction to the innate abilities of the InDividual?
Where is the wisdom we feel in our heartbeat, where is the feeling of simple beauty of life all around, when we are being choked to our spiritual death with so many words and fake descriptions of things that do not exist and never will.
Those things are creating a second reality, a fantasy world of make belief of labels of high executive thought, as though it was designed for us to pretend we arent human...and is this obviously where we are heading?
Is the double reality of always pretending, leading us to loss of clarity but also loss of dignity? Are we pretending to be in a perfect job, marriage, family and we are faking it most of the time in order to manifest another reality? When we know that the only true peace and harmony comes from a deeper connection to our InDividual.
