Upper body workout 🏋🏻‍♀️

Busy weeks atm so just trying to be efficient with my sessions rather than overthinking it.

This was a 45 min upper body workout after a 3.5km run + pre-work

Nothing fancy, just getting it done and keeping things moving.

Side planks might look simple… but they’re one of the most powerful rehab exercises I use.

They build strength where it actually matters👇

✔️ Lower back – improves lateral core stability and reduces unnecessary strain
✔️ Hips – targets glutes for better pelvic control
✔️ Knees – helps prevent valgus collapse by improving hip stability
✔️ Ankles – supports alignment by controlling the chain above

It’s not just a core exercise—it’s a full chain stability drill that carries over into walking, running, and single-leg movements.

If you can control your body here, everything else gets easier.

Hip abduction does more than lift your leg out to the side…

It strengthens the muscles that control how your hip rotates and stabilises when you walk, run, and stand on one leg.

That means better support for your:
✔️ Ankles
✔️ Knees
✔️ Hips
✔️ Lower back

If you’re coming back from pain or injury, this is a key foundation exercise that helps your whole body move better—not just your hip.

Standing hip abductions can make a real difference for hip, back, knee, and even ankle rehab. It’s simple, but it works – helping you build strength, stability, and confidence in everyday movement. ⚖️✨
Try 2–3 sets of 12–15 reps per side and notice the difference yourself! 🔥

I like this exercise done against a wall because it works both internal and external rotators of the hip (doesn’t allow your foot to turn out)
