Stocking Up on Good Vibes (and Good Broth) 🥣✨
Love that we have so many Asian food shops locally 😍
Feeling inspired by our trip to China 🇨🇳 and leaning into some stock-based nutrition lately.
Some early research suggests that bone broth/stock may have anti-inflammatory properties, could help reduce joint pain, and may even support nutrient absorption and gut health. ➡️ BUT the evidence is still mixed, and more high-quality human research is needed.
Either way… tasty, warming, nourishing (especially given how cold it’s been in the UK).
🔬 A few interesting research bits:
• Bone broth contains amino acids like glutamine, glycine + minerals that may support gut barrier integrity and reduce inflammation (PubMed ID: 40180691).
• In animal models, enriched chicken bone broth reduced pain and lowered COX-2, a pro-inflammatory enzyme (PubMed ID: 29509826).
• Analyses show bone broth has lower collagen-related amino acids than supplements, so effects may vary (PubMed ID: 29893587).
