I didnât lose weight until my 40s
But for me it wasnât just about the weight
I didnât want to keep dodging the camera or needing to know my angles
I wanted to wear the clothes I actually liked not just what fit
And I didnât want to end up in a care home because my body was weak and immobile
I want to feel lean and fit for as long as Iâm alive so I can live life on my terms
So I committed to my goal and stepped into a new identity
I stopped being the version of me who always started over
Whose emotions controlled everything she put in her mouth
Who felt completely out of control around food
Who was constantly on and off diets
I stopped being her and started becoming the woman who eats with freedom
Moves with confidence
Wears whatever the hell she wants
And is fitter and stronger at 48 than she was in her 20s
(and is sailing through perimenopause virtually symptom free)
That didnât come from another diet
It came from finally understanding how weight loss actually works and building a plan that fit me
