*Anti-Bullying Week 2025*

This week is Anti-Bullying Week in the UK, and we’ve recorded a special episode featuring some of the bravest stories yet from our presenters’ personal experiences. We also discuss how bullying is not just name-calling - it can also include ignoring or excluding people, coercive behaviour, intimidation, or making hurtful jokes at someone’s expense.

Phillip especially opens up in this episode. Please note that he has previously shared his full story on YouTube and has received a great deal of support over the years, helping him reach such an amazing point in his life — with independence, friends, and a new fiancée!

We’ve included details of the National Bullying Helpline in case any of you are affected by anything mentioned in this podcast.

Welcome to an important episode of the podcast. This week, in recognition of Anti-Bullying Week, we’re doing something a little different — and a little heavier than usual. In this episode, we open up about our own real experiences with bullying — ...

In this special half term episode, we’re diving into some big topics and plenty of laughs. First up, we’re talking accessibility—everything from getting into buildings to accessing meaningful work, and why these things matter.

Then, Richard wows us with his amazing party trick—you won’t want to miss it! We also chat about our hobbies, share a few laughs over our favourite TV comedies, and swap some feel-good recommendations.

Forwarding on behalf of Big Grange Local.

GBL and Northumbria University are doing some research on the health benefits of a basic income and we need your help.

We need 20 people of different ages and backgrounds to join a lived experience panel, at 6.30pm on 27 November at Archer Academy School. We would like 20% of our panel to be disabled people.

The meeting will last two hours, and, as a thank you, people who take part will receive a £50 Love2Shop voucher.

Please apply by 10 November, through the QR code.

If you have any questions, or would like help with the application form, Julia will be at Tarling Road Community Centre at Thursday 23 October 3.30-5pm and Monday 27 October from 10am.

On Friday we had the pleasure of hearing the talents of Genesis Brown - an incredibly talented musician and artist, who just happens to be autistic. Look out for this gifted young man on the Dis-labled Podcast very soon, where he will be answering our questions and performing.
