🎉Congratulations to Jeremy Lock who is our employee of the month!

Jeremy is a Senior CBT and EMDR Therapist working on the Anxiety Disorders Residential Unit and the Bethlem Royal Hospital, and was selected as January's winner for the below patient feedback:

“I don't actually know where to begin to say how thankful I am to you for my treatment at ADRU. There have been times over the past few months where, for the first time I can remember, I've actually felt truly at peace and that has been so freeing. What's more, I'm actually starting to believe that I deserve to feel that way. It takes a very special person to do the work that you do.”

The theme for this year's Eating Disorder Awareness week is Community, looking at the power of support systems for individuals struggling with an eating disorder.

To best understand how families and communities can support, we spoke with Danilen Nursigadoo, Senior Family and Systemic Psychotherapist, who works in our Eating Disorders Day Services and Outpatients.

Danilen goes on to highlight men, ethnic minorities, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community who suffer with eating disorders being less likely to be identified early enough, leading to them being disproportionately represented in inpatient services.
