"I was surprised at how physical grief is".
Great interview on Radio 4 with author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie who has written 'Notes on Grief' as a tribute to her late father who died last year. A wonderful analysis of the many mixed emotions we experience and how best we can offer comfort to someone who is grieving.

The celebrated author on how to talk about grief and expressing compassion to others.

With the funeral of The Duke of Edinburgh taking place this weekend, it is refreshing to see that his wishes of “not wanting a fuss” are being honoured.
LBC’s Clive Bull was keen to know how much funerals have changed over this last extraordinary year.

This bench is on the tow path by the river at Strand on the Green. The family will always remember a lady who lived her life to the full.

This quote from Abraham Lincoln resonates with me...
“And in the end it's not the years in your life that count; it's the life in your years. ”

Indoor venues might not be possible at the moment, but outdoors there are plenty of safe options to fulfil a service. Please let me know if you’d like their details.

Funeral Singers Quartet - Kindred
We had the pleasure of working with Kindred this week, a quartet ensemble who helped Brunskill Funerals organise a very special tribute at Twickenham Cemetery. The talented four put together there very own arrangement of two pieces of specially chosen songs and well known favourites that meant so much to the family, Whatever will be, Will be, Que Sera, Sera & Cant help falling in love.

As the service was an outdoor ceremony conducted at the graveside for a Burial, the use of pre-recorded music is a little limited depending on the equipment available. So on this occasion having worked with Kindred before we knew they would create a perfect unique tribute in a very special way for the family to celebrate the life of their much loved Mother & Grandmother.. If you would like to know a little more Kindred and their availability to sing at funerals or would like to talk to us about other bespoke services please don't hesitate to get in touch
