Thoroughly enjoyed hearing Dr Rahul Jandial, one of the world’s most eminent experts in the study and improvement of brain function speak last week. Hugely knowledgable, he’s an award-winning, dual-trained neuroscientist and neurosurgeon. His new book ‘Life Lessons from a Brain Surgeon’ is a brilliant marriage between academia and hands on clinical experience which he brings to life on page and on stage with his presence and rapport. If you haven’t already read, do so 📚

Beets are getting a lot of attention lately and quite rightly so. Beets increase blood flow to the neo cortex. Researchers in Australia showed that the nitrate found in beets juice is linked to improved cerebral blood flow and enhanced cognitive performance across their study group. Beet juice is especially popular with athletes, who need a natural boost. Made freshly at home or bought fresh, just make sure to avoid added sugars 🍬
