The Richmond Herbalist is back again at Barnes Farmers’ Market tomorrow, 4th October, 8:30-2pm and also at Chiswick House Duckpond Market on Sunday, 10-4pm. The weather has turned and we are drinking lots of capital Equinox tea to support immunity, moisten our lungs and ward off the coughs and colds that seem to be afflicting everyone at the moment. Come by the stall and try the tea and have a play with our range of aromatic room sprays and aromatherapy roll-on. The Autumn Equinox ones have been very popular, helping to ground centre and balance us as we move into the windy stormy weather of Autumn and Storm Amy who will be visiting us this weekend.

The Richmond Herbalist is excited to be back at Barnes Farmer’s Market today, 27th September, from 8:30-2pm. We will be launching our Autumn Equinox Range, which consists of a tea to support the lungs as we move into Autumn, an aromatic room spray with grounding Autumnal essential oils and an aromatherapy roll-on to balance and centre.

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, Autumn is the season of dryness, corresponding to the Metal element and associated with the lungs and the large intestine. Autumn Equinox Tea is rich in demulcent herbs, perfect for moistening dry lungs and intestines at the change of season from late Summer to Autumn. As the trees start to lose their leaves and the days grow shorter, we may feel sadness or grief at Summer’s end. This is a time to look inwards and allow us ourselves to release what no longer serves us.

The change in weather and earlier sunsets are indicating that the Autumn equinox, when day and night length are equal, is drawing near. After this date, 22nd September, we move towards shorter days and longer nights, the beginning of Autumn proper, when we can begin to enjoy our homes more, with longer evenings to fill with rituals of self care to encourage deep and restorative sleep. Make time for yourself with our Evening Stillness Ritual. Run yourself a bath with a handful or two of our newly formulated bath salts, made from Epsom and Pink Himalayan salts, and Petitgrain, Lavender and Bergamot essential oils. Make yourself a large mug of Evening Stillness tea, with Passionflower, Lavender and California Poppy, to drink in your bath. Spray your bathroom and bed pillow with our aromatic room spray, fragrant with Lavender, Bergamot, Patchouli and Ylang Ylang. Prepare for the most restful and restorative sleep.
We will be at the extended Richmond Duckpond Market tomorrow from 11-7. Come by and say hello 🌿

Prepping for the in Richmond tomorrow. Fresh batches of the “Times of the Day” range will be available (this is my favourite Afternoon Flow Tea with Chamomile, Vervain and Holy Basil). I also have freshly made new formulations of my bath salts (let me know if your last jar was sub par - the hot summer played havoc with the oil content - I have a gratis replacement bag waiting for you). We also have a small number of Hay Fever and Midsummer teas available discounted to £15 to make way for exciting new stock around the Autumn Equinox in late September. We will be at Duckpond Market in Richmond tomorrow from 10:30-4:00pm. Hope to see you there 🌿

As August draws to an end, and the temperature starts to drop, now is the time to reconsider daily bathing as a self-care ritual. Part of the “Times of the Day” range, designed to support your differing energy requirements at morning noon and night, we will be offering the Morning Focus, Afternoon Flow and Evening Stillness bath soaks at a reduced price of £12 (originally £15) to make way for exciting new Autumn stock.

Choose from Morning Focus, with invigorating Rosemary, Eucalyptus, Grapefruit and Basil, curated to enhance your morning routine; Afternoon Flow, a balancing bath soak to ground and lift mood, with Rose, Frankincense, Neroli and Mandarin, or Evening Flow, created for a pre-bath soak, with sleep-enhancing Lavender, Petitgrain and Vetiver. All are made with Epsom and Pink Himalayan salts, dried herbs, grapeseed oil and essential oils - nothing else.

We will also be selling the rest of the “Times of the Day” collection - including mood enhancing aromatic room sprays and herbal teas to boost energy at different times of the day, as well as the last of the Midsummer range of body sprays and teas, the last of the Hayfever teas, as well as the popular Morning Recovery Hangover Powder, and a selection of essential oil roll ons and balms to support sleep, stress and other common complaints.

We will be at Barnes Farmer’s Market tomorrow from 8:30am-2pm. Do come by and say hello.

The Richmond Herbalist will be at the Duckpond Market in Richmond this Saturday 5th July. The popular “Times of the Day” range, including Morning Focus, Afternoon Flow and Evening Stillness, will be available, featuring products to support your energy throughout the day. Morning Focus is formulated to help you get the most out of your morning by improving focus and providing gentle mental stimulation.
Create a morning ritual for yourself. Draw yourself a deep bath and add a handful or two of your Morning Focus bath salts. Relax for 20 minutes to allow the salts and oils to work their magic. The bath salts are formulated with Magnesium Sulphate (Epsom Salts) which are rich in magnesium to relax the body, Himalayan salts to purify and detoxify, and dried rosemary needles which are stimulating and improve concentration. Essential oils of Lemon Eucalyptus Grapefruit and Basil are invigorating and reviving. Fragments of rosemary needles will float gently in the water and the salts will dissolve, toning and relaxing the body (however, if you prefer, these can be rinsed off after your bath before drying off)
Boil the kettle and add 2 teaspoons of your Morning Focus tea to your teapot. Allow it to steep for 5-10 minutes for therapeutic benefit. Pour yourself a cup and savour it. The organic green tea is low in caffeine and provides sustained concentration without the jitteriness associated with coffee. The Damask rose petals are fragrant, mood-lifting and sweet, tempering the bitterness of the green tea. The blackberry leaves are aromatic, anti-inflammatory and cardio-protective.
Revived and focussed, enter your workspace and use the Morning Flow Aromatic Room Spray, formulated with Rosemary aromatic water, Witch Hazel water and essential oils of Lemon, Basil, Cypress and Pink Peppercorn. This revitalising, invigorating and mentally stimulating spray is intended for use to signify the start of your working day, to define your workspace and to improve concentration.

Tomorrow is the Summer Solstice. The weather is reflecting this pivotal time of year and I have prepared some new products to help with the heat and energy of the season. Firstly, a Midsummer tea, featuring three wonderful plant allies that flower around this halfway point in the year. This tea harnesses the energy of Midsummer and contains Lime Flower, Calendula, and Saint John’s Wort. A beautiful golden blend, this tea will help you adjust to the energy of this magical time of year. Secondly, a cooling floral spray, containing the fragrant essential oils; Lemon Verbena, Peppermint, Neroli, and Geranium, all of which beautify the skin, as well as providing refrigerant action to help combat the heat and pollution of these humid London days. As a bonus they can all act as insect repellents, only without the harsh chemicals of store bought ones. Finally, an aromatherapy roll-on, designed to combat nervous tension and the summer heat of London nights; it contains Lemongrass, Mandarin, and Petitgrain. Uplifting, cooling and anxiety-relieving it is designed to help cope with hot tube journeys and sticky London nights.

All of these products and all of your Richmond Herbalist favourites will displayed at Duckpond Market in Richmond tomorrow from 11-4:30, and I look forward to seeing you all there.
