ACCORDION LINES

These are a common type of horizontal cheek wrinkle resembling the folds of an accordion (hence the name!) and appear with age. Accordion lines extend from the corners of the mouth upwards towards the cheeks just like in the before photo above.

They are caused predominantly by a loss of skin elasticity and collagen , often in conjunction with volume loss to the mid face but not always - here they are seen alone without volume loss.

These lines are often seen earlier and more often in those who have had a lot of sun exposure as UV radiation breaks down collagen and elastin accelerating skin ageing and deepening lines.

Here we have restored the collagen and skin elasticity using Morpheus8 which combines two powerful technologies - radio frequency and Micro needling.

Tear trough + mid face treatment ✨
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We corrected hollowing under the eyes and a separation between the eye/cheek junction which was causing a line and replaced lost volume to the cheeks and mid-face area.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The result reduces shadowing, diminishes a hollow, gaunt look and gives the illusion of 10 hours of sleep for this tried,busy mum.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because the under-eye area is heavily supported by the mid face (medial/front cheeks) suitable candidates must have sufficient volume in their mid-face to support any filler placed in the tear troughs. If patients have lost volume in their mid-face and do not have
sufficient volume to support the tear troughs, then we would recommend a dermal filler treatment to their mid face in addition treating the tear troughs.
Most people who have tear trough hollows due to ageing will also have a loss of volume to their mid face. Treating both areas will result in a more natural and satisfactory outcome.

“But, I don’t want big cheeks” we hear many patients say. Neither do we, the Madonna look is not our style.
You can clearly see this patient does NOT have ‘big cheeks’ . We only recommend what will make you look MORE natural not less.
