Yesterday we had the chance to speak to Year 10 and 11 students at Queen Elizabeth School in North London.
Around 430 young people in one room, having an open conversation about mental health.
We talked about checking in on one another. Noticing when someone might be struggling. And understanding that finding things hard does not make you weak.
These conversations matter. The earlier they happen, the more normal it becomes to talk, to ask for help, and to support the people around you.
I am so grateful to be able to do this through Check in on a Mate and to share a message that means a lot to me personally. If even one student walked away feeling less alone, or more confident to ask a mate if they are okay, then it was worth it.
Thank you to the staff and students for listening, engaging, and being open. It was a real privilege.
